GTA 6 fans believe the game might have some connection to another Rockstar franchise called Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar Games is among some of the most popular and reputable developers to ever exist, owing to their ability to craft massive worlds with impressive stories. For years now, we have constantly seen how the developer has been delivering epic quality games that have defined the entire gaming industry.
GTA is a classic sandbox game with Red Dead Redemption being an excellent time machine taking players all the way back to one of America’s most important periods in history. Red Dead has been praised for featuring one of the best stories when it comes to gaming, owing to its impressive writing and interesting protagonists. John Marston and Arthur Morgan are usually considered the best gaming protagonists.
Lately, many fans believe that Rockstar Games might link the two franchises in a much more conspicuous way with GTA 6. Although many loose references are present between the franchises, it looks like they’re nothing more than subtle hints that aren’t based on anything solid. It looks like the two games are set in different universes, but there’s perhaps enough space for the developers to change this.
So, now fans are convinced that GTA 6 might directly link with Red Dead Redemption. Since GTA 6’s first trailer came out, fans have been coming up with wild theories about the game’s story, including the one where they think GTA 6’s official key art features the Vice City map. The latest one dives deeper into the art and comes up with theories about the bullet holes in the car.
However, the latest fan theory suggests that GTA 6’s male protagonist (potentially named Jason) is a descendant of John Marston. Fans have observed that his facial features and the short voice-over segments we have heard from him make him quite similar to Marston.
Furthermore, we also saw another Red Dead character appear in a wanted poster in GTA 6 Trailer 1 for merely a second. Rockstar Games is planning on casting people and using their likeness in the upcoming game instead of just developing a completely new person, so there’s a chance that this is simply how this person looks and sounds.
Should players expect to see GTA 5 characters in GTA 6?
Since GTA 6 was officially announced, fans have wondered which GTA 5 characters might appear in the much-anticipated game. When fans couldn’t wait much longer, they began to look towards the GTA 5 actors for any hints. Michael De Santa’s Ned Luke, when asked by a fan if he’ll appear in GTA 6, simply said, “It’s a mystery,” with five star emojis which might be pointing towards the game’s Wanted Level system.
However, the actor recently shut down an interviewer who claimed that he’s also present in GTA 6 by saying that "GTA 6 is Unknown Things Right Now." He might be refusing to talk right now because he has signed an NDA with Rockstar Games. GTA 5’s Franklin actor Shawn Fonteno also got super excited for GTA 6’s trailer, which many fans thought might be because he’s featured in it. However, he later hinted that his character won’t show up in the game.
GTA 6 is set to come out in 2025 on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
