Recently, a podcast host, speaking with GTA 5’s Michael de Santa, instantly switched his sentence following his slip-up regarding the actor appearing in GTA 6. Larry Lawton, famous for his past exploits as an actual jewel thief turned life coach, interviewed Ned Luke on his podcast.
Once the podcast begins, Lawton instantly connects the Michael de Santa actor to the highly anticipated GTA 6, even though Rockstar hasn’t officially confirmed anything about the matter. Lawton kicks off the podcast by stating, "I've got a great interview… Michael from Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto 6, here he is Ned Luke!"
The actor is waving and all smiles till he hears GTA 6, after which his face drops, and he starts to shake his head. Luke said, "GTA 6 is… unknown things right now - just to make that clear." At this point, Lawton brings his hands up to the camera and exclaims, "[I] didn't say a word!" Later, the two blame the slip-up on a “senior moment” before immediately changing the topic.
It looks like Luke isn’t ready to risk anything and get himself removed from the GTA 6 talks. While it’s thrilling to consider the fact that a GTA 5 protagonist might appear in the upcoming game, it’s probably best for fans to not take this seriously. With that being said, Luke did mention it once more later in the episode.
Lawton asks, "You can't say much about GTA 6, correct?" to which Luke answers, "I can't say anything about GTA 6." Lawton then says, "Can't say you're even in it?" to which the GTA 5 actor shakes his head and responds, "No," accompanied by a chuckle at his answer. He then continues:
"Who knows if I even am in it or not. I mean… historically, I would say no - because they never reuse the protagonists, but I still have the NDA that I'm under, so even if I knew anything, I couldn't say anything."
What did Ned Luke previously say about his appearance in GTA 6?
A fan posted a tweet tagging Ned Luke, the voice actor of Michael De Santa, in which they asked if he would make a cameo in GTA 6. The voice actor didn't comment anything at first but later replied, stating, "It's a mystery." If Rockstar Games had not planned to feature Luke in GTA 6, he would've easily declined this rumor.
However, he did not do that. He instead kept it a mystery, so it could be possible that the character is featured in GTA 6, but Ned Luke is forbidden by Rockstar Games to comment anything on the topic. It is most likely the case that the actor is under an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with Rockstar Games, which is why he can't state anything on the topic publicly.
GTA 6 is set to launch in 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
