Ned Luke, the voice actor popular for playing Michael De Santa in GTA 5, recently teased that his character might show up in GTA 6. So far, we don’t have a lot of information on the upcoming GTA game, which will receive its very first trailer in early December. The only information we have received about the game was from leaks and rumors, which have been coming in for a while now.
While most of them haven’t been confirmed, they do give players an idea of what they can expect from the game. Ned Luke’s response is far too cryptic to be considered a leak, but as a voice actor who has previously worked on GTA 5, he’s definitely a reliable source. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ned Luke answered a fan’s question about Michael and if he’ll make an appearance in Grand Theft Auto 6. Ned simply said, “It’s a mystery,” with five star emojis.
While we didn’t get something solid from the actor, the lack of an actual response speaks for itself. If Rockstar Games had not invited Luke to reprise his role in GTA 6, it would’ve been pretty easy for him to decline and wish the developers well on their journey ahead. However, the answer he gives somehow hints that Ned is involved in the much-anticipated game.
Michael Might Make a Cameo Appearance In GTA 6

Ned Luke might just be keeping silent about the possibility of a Michael De Santa cameo in GTA 6 simply because he is obligated to do so. It’s common for voice actors to sign non-disclosure agreements, especially when they work on such a top-priority project as GTA 6. Luke might have signed a similar contract; hence, he isn’t able to reveal much about his appearance in GTA 6 until Rockstar officially announces it.
There is a high chance that Michael might make a comeback in Grand Theft Auto 6. Franklin’s choice in GTA 5’s last missions decides whether Michael lives or dies. Since the three characters survived the “Deathwish” ending to the last mission, we know Michael is alive. Moreover, when Franklin made an appearance in GTA Online, he revealed that after the end of GTA 5’s story, Michael got a job as a movie producer.
So, there’s a chance that Michael decided to take a trip to wherever GTA 6 is set, ultimately making an appearance in the game. Considering that he wished to leave behind his life of crime, there’s a chance that Michael won’t have much of a major role in GTA 6. If he does end up appearing, it’ll only be for a short while in some side quest or two to save himself from some trouble.
The five stars that Luke used in his answer might also be a reference to GTA’s Wanted system, which tells us how serious of a crime a player’s character has committed, with one being the least and five being the most. Perhaps Michael might appear in GTA 6 because his cover is blown, and he needs to return to make sure he stays safe. We sure do hope that the fan-favorite character does return in GTA 6.
So far, we aren’t sure about other characters returning in Grand Theft Auto 6. If Shawn Fonteno (Franklin) and Steven Ogg (Trevor) are to show up in GTA 6, then they haven’t said anything on the topic yet. Since Rockstar does not want the voice actors to reveal anything, and Luke isn’t willing to either, we won’t know anything for sure until GTA 6 finally launches.
