The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call is officially returning — twice over. Netflix has confirmed that Seasons 2 and 3 of the hit medical drama have been simultaneously confirmed for production, with Ju Ji-hoon, Choo Young-woo, Yoon Kyung-ho and Jeong Jae-kwang all returning, and Jeong Ye-in joining the team in a recast role.
Netflix announced the double renewal with the core cast locked in, promising "upgraded chemistry among the cast and an expanded scale" for the new seasons. Season 2 will follow Baek Kang-hyuk and the severe trauma team as they race to secure the life-or-death golden hour amid even larger disasters and unpredictable crises.
The Trauma Team Reassembles for 2 More Seasons
The Hankuk National University Hospital trauma unit is getting almost its entire roster back:
Ju Ji-hoon returns as Baek Kang-hyuk, the genius trauma surgeon who rebuilt the struggling Severe Trauma Care team in Season 1 and stops at nothing to save his patients.
Choo Young-woo reprises his role as Yang Jae-won, Baek Kang-hyuk's protégé, who has grown into his mentor's successor on the team.
Yoon Kyung-ho is back as Han Yu-rim, the hospital's chief of planning and coordination, who went from Baek Kang-hyuk's fiercest internal opponent to one of his closest allies.
Jeong Jae-kwang returns as Park Gyeong-won, the team's anesthesiologist.
Jeong Ye-in joins the cast as veteran nurse Cheon Jang-mi, taking over the role after Ha Young voluntarily stepped down from the drama. Ha Young's departure followed controversy over her great-grandfather's alleged collaboration with Japan during the colonial period — the same controversy that has now pushed her SBS drama The Long Shot Trial out of the network's first-half 2027 lineup.
Behind the camera, director Lee Do-yoon will helm both new seasons. He will also write Season 2 himself, while Season 3 pairs him with new writer Tomasi on the script.
A Breakout Hit Gets a Double Order
The simultaneous two-season order is a strong vote of confidence in one of Netflix's biggest Korean hits. Released last year, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call follows Baek Kang-hyuk as he works to revive a struggling severe trauma team, and it became a global breakout — reaching Netflix's Top 10 in 63 countries and topping the chart in 18 of them, with a five-week run in the global Top 10 that included a week at No. 1. The series is adapted from the webtoon Trauma Center: Golden Hour.
No premiere dates have been announced for the new seasons yet. Both The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call Seasons 2 and 3 will stream on Netflix when they arrive, where Season 1 is available now.
