Extraordinary Attorney Woo became one of the most success Korean TV shows of all time and it also turned out to be one of Netflix's most popular shows of 2022. The ENA series was produced by Astory, and it's only distributed by Netflix, so technically, it's a Netflix original series.

The legal drama follows 27-year-old Woo Young-Woo (played by Park Eun-bin), a recent law graduate who has autism. She tackles on different cases with her team at a major law firm in Seoul as her story breaks down misconceptions of autistic individuals lacking "emotional intelligence" and "social skills". With her intelligence and photographic memory, she becomes a competent attorney and as result, gets appreciation from her clients and recognition from other legal professionals.

All 16 episodes of the show's first season are streaming on Netflix, but if you already miss Woo Young-Woo, you're probably craving for more information for Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2. We have the latest details and updates about the upcoming season, but expect more details to be revealed in the near future.

Is Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2 coming to Netflix?

Yes, Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2 has officially been confirmed, NME reports. Not much details have been revealed about the second season yet, but the news about its renewal shouldn't come as a surprise since K-drama fans from all around the world enjoyed the series and the global viewership numbers don't lie.

Last year, due to the success of Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 1, the CEO of the network ASTORY (the company behind the popular Korean series), Lee Sang-baek, revealed that there are plans to produce Season 2 of the hit Korean drama, but fans will likely have to wait until 2024 or later for the new episodes to arrive.

“Thanks to the support of many people, we will produce season two of  Extraordinary Attorney Woo . The goal is to air season two in 2024.”

Is Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2 filming now?

Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2 hasn't started production yet. According to a report from Dispatch (via NME), the Moon Ji-won, the writer and creator of Extraordinary Attorney Woo, is writing the second season. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait before we get an official production update. The report said that Moon Ji-won will not be writing the new season right away as they're still working on a new feature film this year.

Here's what ASTORY said about the upcoming season, via Soompi:

Because Moon Ji Won is currently busy with the preparations for her film, she will not be able to write the script right away. We think she will be able to start preparing the script in earnest after she wraps up her film at the beginning of next year.

Of course, the K-drama couldn't start filming until the scripts are ready, and it sounds like they won't be complete until 2024 or early 2025, so it's likely that it will be around late 2024 or early to mid-2025.

Is there a Netflix release date for Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2?

Unfortunately, Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2 will not be released on Netflix anytime soon, so we're going to be waiting quite a while. The scripts for the new episodes haven't been written, and because of that, Season 2 is nowhere close to filming, so that's not looking ideal for a 2024 release date.

However, if they manage to get scripts ready by the end of 2024, and start production by early 2025, there's a chance that Season 2 will begin airing in late 2025, but if it's unclear if that will happen. For now, we're going to be careful with our release date prediction and say that Spring 2025 is the most likely premiere window for Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2.

Just like the first season, the new episodes will likely be released weekly on Netflix as they air in South Korea, so don't expect the entire second season to release all of its episodes at once.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2 Plot

In episode of Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 1, Woo Young-Woo tackled a different legal case with a few of them lasting two episodes long, so we can expect the second season to follow a similar format, where she and her team at Hanbada will take on a different case every episode or two.

Obviously, since the scripts for Season 2 are not completed yet, Astory and the writers of the k-drama haven't released any story details for the new episodes, but expect the series to develop Woo Young-Woo's relationship with her mother/CEO of Taesan Law Firm, Tae Soo-mi.

The Season 1 finale didn't seem to fully resolve their story, so fans can expect the new season to develop this plot further. Of course, it's also expected that Woo Young-woo's love interest, Lee Jun-ho, will have a major role in the story, and it's likely that their relationship will face some obstacles again in Season 2.

Will the two continue to work together? Will they marry? Will Woo or Jun-ho have other love interests in Season 2? There's surely a lot of questions that fans are asking now, but they'll have to wait to find out what will happen.
