Netflix and TMS Entertainment have released an action-packed trailer for Sakamoto Days Part 2, announcing its global premiere on July 14, 2025. The highly anticipated continuation of the hit anime, adapted from Yuto Suzuki’s popular Shonen manga, promises to escalate the stakes with intense battles, signature humor, and deeper narrative developments. Following the success of Part 1, which debuted on January 11, 2025, and ran for 11 episodes, fans are eager to see how the story of retired hitman Taro Sakamoto unfolds.

The new trailer offers a glimpse into the chaos awaiting Sakamoto and his allies. It highlights a three-way conflict involving Sakamoto’s crew, the elite assassin unit known as The Order from the Japanese Association of Assassins (JAA), and a group of dangerous death-row convicts unleashed by the mysterious X (Slur). The footage teases darker moments, with Sakamoto’s family facing new threats, while maintaining the series’ trademark blend of comedy and action. A notable moment includes Sakamoto humorously addressing his struggle to slim down, alongside a powerful declaration about his resolve as a father to protect his loved ones.

The trailer also previews the opening theme song, Method, performed by the five-member Japanese fusion band Kroi, setting an energetic tone for the second cour. Kroi commented on the anime’s official site, noting the contrast between everyday life and intense battles in Part 2, which the song aims to capture.

TMS Entertainment, the same animation studio behind Dr. Stone anime, is in charge of the animation of Sakamoto Days.

The cast of Sakamoto Days anime includes:

  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shin Asakura

  • Ayane Sakura as Lu Xiaotang

  • Nao Toyama as Aoi Sakamoto

  • Hina Kino as Hana Sakamoto

  • Natsuki Hanae as Nagumo

  • Taku Yashiro as Shishiba

  • Ryota Suzuki as Heisuke Mashimo

Since its debut, Sakamoto Days has been a standout on Netflix, ranking #2 on the platform’s Global Top 10 TV (non-English) list with 8.6 million views in its first week, just behind Squid Game Season 2. The manga, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since 2020, has sold over 8 million copies worldwide, with 21 volumes released as of March 2024 and a 22nd volume slated for June 4, 2025. The franchise’s growing popularity is further evidenced by the announcement of a smartphone game, SAKAMOTO DAYS: Dangerous Puzzle, set for a Spring 2025 release.

Fans can expect weekly episode releases for Part 2, starting with a two-episode premiere on July 14. With its mix of heart-pounding action, comedic charm, and emotional depth, Sakamoto Days continues to cement its place as a genre-defining hit, drawing comparisons to One Punch Man and Spy x Family.
