The Infinity Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe marked the retirement of Steve Rogers as Captain America which meant that such was the farewell of Chris Evans to his character as well. Among the other Avengers who said goodbye were Black Widow and Iron Man who both met their heroic demise in Endgame. However, recent rumors surfaced that the original Avengers are bringing the band back together, and Chris Evans finally breaks his silence about the issue.
The original Avengers had been the beating heart of the Infinity Saga or Phases One through Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The team was composed of Chris Evans as Captain America/ Steve Rogers, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man/ Tony Stark, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow/ Natasha Romanov, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye/ Clint Barton, and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk/ Bruce Banner. The first three were already dead or retired in the narrative while the last three are still in the MCU but nearing their farewell as they seem to have found whoever they would pass the baton to. Rumors, however, revealed that they will be getting back together in the MCU and speaking on The View, Chris Evans reveals that he is still in the dark about the potential return of the original Avengers:

Chris Evans played the role of Steve Rogers/ Captain America since he debuted as the hero in 2011 which revealed the story on how he became the Super Soldier who helped during World War 2. His story seemingly concluded in Endgame when he returned the Infinity Stones to when they were pulled out in time and he was revealed to be an old man who lived his life to the fullest. There, he passed the shield to a trusted friend, the one who always gets on his left, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), who finally embraced his new title as Captain America in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and will be having his own movie, Captain America: Brave New World.
Just as Chris Evans said, Marvel Studios has not contacted him yet regarding the possibility of returning to the MCU but in his own words, too, he shows how he would reprise the role once given the call since the role is important to him. A cameo appearance in Captain America: Brave New World or any other MCU project is not impossible, too, especially now that the MCU delves into the Multiverse Saga where there are millions of possibilities through different realities.
Captain America: Brave New World is currently slated for a February 14, 2025 release.
