Sam Wilson has been on a truly amazing journey since he met Steve Rogers and this will be proven in Captain America: Brave New World. Sam is finally getting his own standalone film and for Anthony Mackie, filming the project gave him a wholesome throwback to where he started his Marvel Cinematic Universe journey as Falcon.

Anthony Mackie debuted as Sam Wilson in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier where his character helped Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff face off against Bucky Barnes and uncover HYDRA's plans to infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D. from within. Since then, Mackie has appeared in six MCU films and the Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier where Sam ultimately accepted Steve's shield and became the new Captain America.

He might be Captain America now, but working on Brave New World gave Mackie a touching throwback to his time with The Winter Soldier. While speaking to TheWrap, the 8 Mile star explained how a particular filming location made him recall working on the 2014 movie.

"It kind of brought my Marvel experience full circle because we shot in D.C. at the same hotel that we shot Winter Soldier at," Mackie said. He then added, "It was kind of dope to sit outside the White House and smoke a cigar and have whiskey with my crew and watch the sunrise."

It is great to know that Mackie still fondly remembers where he started. In addition to that, it's an interesting little detail about Captain America 4. Why is Sam hanging out near the White House? We can't wait to find out next year.
