Scarlett Johansson has responded to the rumors surrounding the return of Black Widow and the original six Avengers in a future Marvel Cinematic Universe project. Recent reports suggested that Marvel had discussed the possibility of reassembling the original Avengers team, even though some of its members are no longer part of the franchise due to death or retirement. So what does Johansson think of her possible return? The Black Widow actress revealed that she is not aware of her own involvement in the potential MCU project.

In an interview with Today, Johansson addressed these rumors, revealing she was not aware of any plans for her return and humorously suggested that it would have to be in the form of a "zombie film." She also confirmed that Black Widow's character is indeed dead, as depicted in Avengers: Endgame, where she sacrificed herself to obtain the Soul Stone on Vormir.

"I would have... it would be a miracle. It would be real Marvel miracle. It would be a marvel. But, you know, who knows? Eh... I'm not sure," Johansson said.

While three of the original Avengers are no longer part of the MCU, the possibility of their return cannot be ruled out, given the existence of the multiverse. However, as of now, there appear to be no concrete plans to bring back the original Avengers team.

Kevin Feige Teases Scarlett Johansson's Future MCU Project

Kevin Feige has stated that there are no immediate plans for such a reunion. Nonetheless, Marvel Studios has confirmed an upcoming "project" involving Johansson, the details of which remain undisclosed.

It is unlikely to involve her reprising the role of Black Widow, as revisiting the original team could potentially hinder the momentum the MCU has built with its newer characters. Marvel's focus seems to be on developing its new generation of heroes, rather than dwelling on the past, even though fans may be eager to see the original Avengers once again.
