Moon Knight brought a new perspective of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the inclusion of Egyptian mythos in the mix and Oscar Isaac's titular character was introduced in a way that MCU fans will never forget. As the MCU faces shake ups following the recently ended strikes, new people are expected to work on already existing projects. Now, with Captain America: Brave New World scheduled for reshoots and additional photography during the Spring-Summer 2024, the upcoming movie led by Anthony Mackie taps Moon Knight writer Matthew Orton to pen the script for the additional scenes that they will be having.
The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes had a long-term effect on projects of various studios across Hollywood. For Marvel Studios, upcoming projects of the MCU majorly got overhauls with the people working behind the scenes. As for Captain America: Brave New World, Deadline reported that the movie will be getting additional scenes and material which will be penned by Moon Knight scribe Matthew Orton.
Matthew Orton's material for Captain America: Brave New World will be used once the movie enters filming of the additional photography happening in spring-summer 2024. Reshoots are standard in the MCU under Marvel Studios' quality control production process. Orton is best known for being the consulting producer and writer of Moon Knight which garnered high viewership and positive reviews when it came out on Disney Plus.
What is Captain America: Brave New World about?
Captain America: Brave New World is expected to follow the events of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier where Sam Wilson finally embraced the mantle of being the successor of Steve Rogers' Captain America. While there is no official plot synopsis yet, various hints have surfaced over time where it is speculated that Thunderbolt Ross will be playing a huge part in the movie being the current USA President in the MCU narrative. Harrison Ford will be making his debut as Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross in Captain America: Brave New World.
Anthony Mackie will banner Captain America: Brave New World as the new Captain America of the MCU, Sam Wilson. He will be joined by his own successor to the moniker of Falcon, Danny Ramirez who will play Joaquin Ramirez. Characters from The Incredible Hulk like the Leader will also play a pivotal role as Tim Black Nelson suits up as Samuel Sterns, and Liv Tyler will be back to reprise her role as the daughter of Thunderbolt Ross, Betty Ross.
Captain America: Brave New World is set for a theatrical release on February 14, 2025.
