Peter Parker's animated adventures are mapped out much further than Marvel has officially admitted. While the series is formally renewed only through Season 3, its creator has confirmed that a fourth season is already in production alongside it.

In an interview with Collider at New York Comic Con, series creator Jeff Trammell addressed reports that Season 4 had been greenlit, confirming progress on both of the show's next two seasons even though Marvel has not announced a renewal beyond Season 3. "I don't know what I can say, and no one's stopping me, so I'm gonna say we're already working on Seasons 3 and 4," Trammell said. The confirmation means this version of the wall-crawler could be sticking around for quite a while, provided viewers keep tuning in.

Season 3 is already in progress as well, part of a push to move the series onto a steadier yearly cadence after the long gap between its first two seasons. Season 2 premieres January 13, 2027, closing a wait of nearly two years since the show's debut.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 Sets Up the Long Game

Trammell said the new season will be "hitting the ground running" with the questions Season 1 left behind, from the fate of Lonnie Lincoln as leader of the 110th to Harry Osborn's new company. The biggest thread is the finale's twist: Peter's father, Richard Parker, is alive and behind bars.

Season 2 is also shaping up as the year of Venom. A piece of symbiote was left behind after Spider-Man and Doctor Strange battled the alien that came through the portal opened by Norman Osborn's Project Monolith, setting up Peter's iconic black suit and the symbiote's eventual host, Eddie Brock — voiced by Spider-Man veteran Josh Keaton. Charlie Cox's Daredevil is among the returning faces, while Gwen Stacy arrives as one of the season's biggest new additions, suiting up as Spider-Gwen.

Trammell singled out Nico Minoru as a character he is particularly excited for viewers to see more of. "She's a big part of Season 2," he said, and he teased that Norman Osborn is far from done scheming: "Norman's up to some stuff that I'm really excited about as well."

An Alternate Take on Spider-Man

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man reimagines Peter's earliest days in a world inspired by both the MCU and the earliest Spider-Man comics — one where Peter is mentored not by Iron Man, but by Norman Osborn, who guides him through early battles with Scorpion, Doc Ock, and more. That foundation now gives the series room to look further ahead than most animated shows can.

The long runway also fits Marvel Animation's broader direction: X-Men '97 is locked into a yearly release model with Seasons 3 and 4 due in 2027 and 2028, and Marvel Zombies is set to become a yearly Halloween fixture starting in 2027. With work already underway on Season 4, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man looks positioned to join that same reliable rotation on Disney+.
