It looks like Anthony Mackie's grand debut as the new Captain America might be delayed. Captain America: Brave New World seemingly lost its release date in a recent report. Is it possible that the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel has been removed from Disney's current roster?
We already saw Sam Wilson take on the Captain America mantle by the end of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. In the series, Sam finally took back Steve Rogers' shield and became the new Captain America. Soon, it was announced that Anthony Mackie is getting his own film.
But is it possible that Captain America 4 won't be done in time? Disney has released its earnings report for the third quarter of 2023 and it lists the studio's upcoming films. Disappointingly, it does not feature Captain America: Brave New World. It also confirms that The Marvels is the only Marvel Studios movie that will hit theaters between September 2023 and June 2024.

So what happened to Captain America 4? There are speculations that the production of the sequel has been delayed due to the WGA writers' strike and the SAG-AFTRA actors' strike. This means the film might not be completed in time for its previously announced July 2024 release.
This is truly disappointing news for fans but it's still possible that Captain America 4 will be released on time. After all, there is a possibility that the list only includes Disney's theatrical releases from September 2023 to June 2024, and a new list will be revealed in the next report. We'll keep you updated on this story.
Brave New World is not the only Marvel film that seemingly lost its 2024 release date. It was previously reported that Deadpool 3 is no longer listed in Disney's roster despite its previously announced June 2024 release. On the other hand, The Marvels will hit theaters in November this year.
Captain America: Brave New World will star Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, Harrison Ford, and Liv Tyler. It will be directed by Julius Onah who wrote the script with Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. The film was previously announced to hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
