Bandai Namco Entertainment has released the twentieth character trailer for Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, an upcoming 3D arena fighting game based on Tite Kubo's popular shonen franchise. The new gameplay trailer showcases the abilities of Mayuri Kurotsuchi, the "mad scientist" captain of the 12th Division in the Gotei 13 and 2nd president of the Shinigami Research Institute.
In the current storyline of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime, Mayuri recently unleashed his insanely-disturbing Bankai against Pernida Parnkgjas, a Quincy and member of the Wandenreich's Sternritter with the designation C: The Compulsory. While it doesn't look like the game the power level we've recently seen in the anime, we can expect Mayuri's signature moves to be familiar in Rebirth of Souls. The trailer describes Mayuri as a fighter with "a strong ability to restrict the opponent's actions from a medium-range and then slowly hunt the opponent down." The official description on Bandai Namco's YouTube channel also says that he uses poison to wear down his enemies and control their movement across the battlefield. When Mayuri unleashes his Bankai: Konjiki Ashisogijizo, opponents will accumulate poison even when attacks do not hit, and the speed of poison accumujlation will increase over time.
Previously, Bandai Namco revealed character trailers for Grimmjow, Izuru, Renji, Soi Fon, Kaname Tosen, Rangiku, Ichigo, Rukia, and Uryu. Trailers highlighting the Bankai of Ichigo Kusosaki and the villainous Ulquiorra Shifar were also released. We can expect more character trailers for Bleach: Rebirth of Souls as we get closer to its launch date.
What is Bleach: Rebirth of Souls about?
In Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, players unleash attacks to take down their opponents' Reishi. Cutting down one gauge of Reishi breaks down their opponent's Konpaku, which is represented by nine bars of health. Combos can be performed to break multiple Konpaku, and perform reverse actions while attacking and defending. Players can use accumulated spiritual power to unleash Spiritual Pressure Moves, and unlock powerful Bankai powers.
The story and characters of Bleach: Rebirth of Souls will cover the original manga's Substitute Soul Reaper Arc up to the Arrancar Arc.

In Bleach: Rebirth of Souls , players can engage in thrilling action-packed battles with iconic characters from the legendary anime franchise including Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida, and Yasutora Sado (Chad). Players can use each character's moves, or Zanpakuto action, to knock down their opponent’s reishi in a 1 v 1 action battle, reducing their konpaku, or overall health bar. After damaging their opponent, players can unleash key combos to destroy multiple konpaku and turn the tide of battle. Accumulate Fighting Spirit while attacking to enter an awakened state and unleash a special move.
Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, which was developed by Tamsoft Corporation, is scheduled to release on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC (via Steam) in early 2025. For more information about it, check out the official page on Bandai Namco Entertainment's website.
