Bandai Namco Entertainment has released three new character trailers for the upcoming Bleach: Rebirth of Souls 3D fighting game, and they highlight the gameplay elements of three of the franchise's most iconic characters: Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, and Uryu Ishida. The arena brawler based on Tite Kubo's popular shonen franchise is in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam).
As explained in the general descriptions of the fighters' play styles near the beginning and the end of the trailers, Ichigo is described as an easy-to-use and “very powerful and resourceful in-fighter” who can inflict high damage, while Rukia, who has multiple Hado spells in her arsenal, is a fighter with “plenty of resources to adapt to her opponents in battle.” Unsurprisingly, Ishida is all about staying distant so he could execute his ranged attacks.
The trailers also feature text descriptions of the characters' iconic moves; for instance, the trailer for Ichigo reveals that using the Reverse action — which is said to be the “key to offense and defense in this game” — with him provides additional bonuses such as improved “basic performance" and more Kikon Move damage. A gameplay overview trailer was released earlier this month, and it explained the battle mechanics of the game. It also gave us a preview of Ichigo and Byakuya Kuchiki's iconic bankai moves.
What is Bleach: Rebirth of Souls about?
Bandai Namco Entertainment shared an official description of Bleach: Rebirth of Souls:
In Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, players can engage in thrilling action-packed battles with iconic characters from the legendary anime franchise including Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida, and Yasutora Sado (Chad). Players can use each character's moves, or Zanpakuto action, to knock down their opponent’s reishi in a 1 v 1 action battle, reducing their konpaku, or overall health bar. After damaging their opponent, players can unleash key combos to destroy multiple konpaku and turn the tide of battle. Accumulate Fighting Spirit while attacking to enter an awakened state and unleash a special move.
