Bandai Namco Entertainment has released the seventeenth character trailer for Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, an upcoming 3D arena fighting game based on Tite Kubo's popular shonen franchise. The brand new trailer features Izuru Kira, who's the lieutenant of the 3rd Division in the Gotei 13, formerly under Captain Gin Ichimaru but in the current storyline of the manga, he's under Captain Rōjūrō Ōtoribashi. While an exact release date hasn't been confirmed for the game yet, it was previously revealed that it would be released in early 2025.
The game describes Izuru as a fighter with "unique actions that draw opponents in and force them to make a choice." His Awakening release is Shikai: Wabisuke, which lets him change his fighting style to make more use of Wabisuke's abilities in battle. A hit coutner is active in this state, and when it's full, hitting an opponent with a Spiritual Pressure Move will cause them to take more danage and slow them down. "Izuru Kira brings the weight of his grief to pull, slow, and stop his foes," the trailer's description reads. Watch the showcase of his abilities while he fights Rukia in the trailer below:
Previously, Bandai Namco shared character trailers for Renji, Soi Fon, Kaname Tosen, Rangiku, Ichigo, Rukia, and Uryu. Trailers highlighting the Bankai of Ichigo Kusosaki and the villainous Ulquiorra Shifar were also released. We can expect more character trailers for Bleach: Rebirth of Souls as we get closer to its launch date.
What is Bleach: Rebirth of Souls about?
In Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, players unleash attacks to take down their opponents' Reishi. Cutting down one gauge of Reishi breaks down their opponent's Konpaku, which is represented by nine bars of health. Combos can be performed to break multiple Konpaku, and perform reverse actions while attacking and defending. Players can use accumulated spiritual power to unleash Spiritual Pressure Moves, and unlock powerful Bankai powers.
The story and characters of Bleach: Rebirth of Souls will cover the original manga's Substitute Soul Reaper Arc up to the Arrancar Arc.
