Star Wars has successfully expanded its franchise when it introduced the shows on Disney+ called as the Mandoverse. The Mandalorian got a spinoff series titled The Book of Boba Fett which garnered high viewership upon its release. However, since then, Season 2 remained blurry and now, Boba Fett actor Temuera Morrison speaks up on its possibility.
The Book of Boba Fett features the titular Star Wars bounty hunter played by Temuera Morrison alongside Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shand. It is the second Star Wars series to come out on Disney+ and it was followed by Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, and Ahsoka which were all successful upon release. So far, for the live-action shows, only The Mandalorian got more then season and Andor's second season, whilst confirmed, was delayed. Now, for the possibility of The Book of Boba Fett Season 2, Temuera Morrison spoke to Newshub where he said:
No word yet. I don't even know if there is going to be a Season 2. I don't know what's going on there. We're coming out of this downtime period, so, I think everyone is just settling back in, and it all goes back to budgets and what they want to do, and how much the thing costs. I really don't know, I really don't know. Judging by the fans I've met, they all want a Season 2 of Boba Fett , but I don't know what's going to happen.
Despite its high viewership, Lucasfilm is yet to confirm The Book of Boba Fett Season 2. This goes the same for the other shows like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka. Still, Lucasfilm seems to be taking its time with the Star Wars releases following the criticisms of the Skywalker Saga. Thus, The Book of Boba Fett Season 2's fate remains on the balance.
Will Boba Fett return in Star Wars?
Over the years, characters of Star Wars come and go, and some of them make surprise appearances in unexpected shows. In a recent rumor from Jason Ward, owner of MakingStarWars.net, he said that Lucasfilm is not interested in pursuing another season for The Book of Boba Fett but he noted that Temuera Morrison's Boba Fett would return in a different show. He hinted that Boba Fett would make a come back in The Mandalorian Season 4. Still, without any confirmation from Lucasfilm, the possibilities remain endless on where Boba Fett could show up.
The finale of The Book of Boba Fett revealed the fate of the bounty hunter where he emerged victorious against Cad Bane and he earned the respect of Mos Espa's denizens. It was teased in the mid-credits scene that Marshal Cobb Vanth was alive and was in a bacta tank in Boba Fett's palace.
The Book of Boba Fett Season 1 episodes are all available to stream on Disney Plus.
