The Mandoverse has brought various fan-favorite shows on Disney Plus which brings the story of the galaxy far, far away into a narrower scope through some characters from the movies. Diego Luna is among the favorites who first appeared in the movies before having his very own show, from Rogue One, to his titular Andor series. However, upon Disney's release of the 2024 schedule of shows on the streaming platform, Star Wars: Andor Season 2 is officially off of the list which means it will be pushed back in schedule.

Disney's official 2024 roster of releases is finally out as Walt Disney Studios unveils new contents for Marvel, Star Wars, and more are arriving next year. Star Wars contents arriving in 2024 are named as follows: Star Wars: The Acolyte, Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Season 2. Notably, all the shows have no official release date attached to it and that there is one show that is not on the list.

It was expected that Star Wars: Andor Season 2 will be coming out on August 2024 as announced during the April 2023 Star Wars Celebration. From the looks of Disney's roster, it was made official that Star Wars: Andor Season 2 is off of the 2024 releases which means it is pushing back further for a 2025 release at the earliest.

Why is Star Wars: Andor Season 2 delayed?

The reason which is most likely the cause of the delay of Andor Season 2 was the pause in production due to the SAG-AFTRA and the WGA strikes wherein the team behind Andor was in active participation on the picket lines. As reported by Deadline, the Andor production team was already in the middle of filming before being forced to shut down because of the strikes. With much left to do, Lucasfilm's decision not push through with its 2024 release could be for the benefit of all.

Recently, Lucasfilm has vowed to push through with every project having precision which means that the studio will not be rushing anything just to deliver. If it needed be, better delay than push through with something uncooked.
