Riverdale: Madeline Petsch Says “People Will Be Happy” With Cheryl’s Ending

Now that Riverdale is finally ending, people are wondering about the characters’ ends. Madeline Petsch has something to say about Cheryl’s end.

Since season seven will be Riverdale’s final season on The CW, fans are asking questions about the characters’ fates as the season nears its end. However, Madeline Petsch, who plays Cheryl Blossom, has somehow helped put the fans at ease where her character is concerned.

She says that Cheryl will end up in a pretty good place and thinks that people will be happy and enjoy seeing where her story ends.

During her talk with Us magazine, Petsch said, “It’s more to me about saying goodbye to these people who made the show [and] put their love into it. So that was quite difficult. But I know it was time to put the red lipstick away and say goodbye to Cheryl. So, I’m excited to say goodbye to Cheryl [and] I think her story has been completed really well. I think people will be happy with it.”

Additionally, Petsch commented on her relationship with Toni Topaz, played by her best friend, Vanessa Morgan. She informed fans about the status of that relationship and where it is headed in season 7’s last couple of episodes.

She said, "Vanessa has been my best friend since before the show even started. So, to play her onscreen love when we have so much chemistry was absolutely wonderful. What I love about her is that even in scenes where we're just [in the background], we find ways to make Choni feel real and authentic and like they're truly in love. I think you can really see, especially in the final couple episodes of the season, that what was really important to us is figuring out what our relationship looks like and making sure that it feels authentic and people are really happy with it."

Production of Riverdale Season 7 Wrapped

Riverdale wrapped the show’s production last week in its final season. To commemorate the occasion, the show’s star Camila Mendes shared an emotional tribute to the series on Instagram. She shared a series of behind-the-scenes images of her Riverdale co-stars as she said goodbye to the series as well as her character, Veronica Lodge.

Madeline Petsch also shared a picture of herself on social media as a tribute to the series. In the picture, she was sitting in Riverdale High’s hall with the caption reading, "I walked down this hallway for the last time yesterday. I have so much to say and so many feelings but I can't see my phone through my tears so right now I'll just say thank you and goodbye Riverdale."

Although we are devastated seeing the show come to its end, we also can't wait to see where the stars end up and what great projects await them!
