Netflix has released the first teaser trailer and poster for the upcoming Korean romantic comedy Take Charge of My Heart, starring Chae Soo-bin and Kim Young-kwang. The new materials preview an unusual pairing built around electricity, closeness, and a heart that cannot keep beating on its own.
The series is based on the web novel of the same title and follows a man whose artificial heart is running out of battery and a woman with the rare power to recharge him. Take Charge of My Heart treats that high-concept hook as the start of a romantic comedy in which physical contact becomes both a medical necessity and the spark for an unexpected relationship.
When the pair accidentally cross paths, their lips brush, and Na Bo-bae (Chae Soo-bin) discovers that her electrical powers do not shock Baek Ho-rang (Kim Young-kwang) the way they shock everyone else. The chance meeting does not remain a one-time accident. On the day of Baek Ho-rang’s surgery, a hospital blackout drains the battery of his artificial heart and leaves him in sudden danger.
For a reason the teaser leaves unexplained at first, that battery begins to charge whenever he stands near Na Bo-bae. Around the same time, the writer, whose contract is about to expire, is ordered by her director to produce a passionate and mature romance. Hoping to feel a real relationship for the first time, she agrees to Baek Ho-rang’s request that she charge him for three months until his re-surgery.

The first poster sets the two leads against a saturated pink background as they stand close together and lift their joined hands toward a glowing battery icon overhead. Pink sparks flicker through Na Bo-bae’s curly hair, a luminous anatomical heart shines on Baek Ho-rang’s chest, and the English version promises "Charged by Touch, Drained by Distance, Shocked by Love".
Kim Young-kwang returns to romance after Trigger and Somebody, playing a strategist whose polished public image conceals a failing mechanical heart. Chae Soo-bin, recently seen in The Fabulous and Sweet & Sour, portrays a screenwriter who has never been able to hold the hand of someone she likes without sending a shock through the other person.
Park Soo-won, the director behind Work Later, Drink Now and Birthcare Center, helms the series as his first full romantic comedy for the streamer. Song You-chae wrote the adaptation, shaping the source story into a three-month contract that blurs medical care, creative research, and desire.
Take Charge of My Heart will premiere on Netflix on October 9. The series will stream exclusively on the platform.
