The Marvel Cinematic Universe ended the Infinity Saga with the success of the Avengers defeating Thanos in Endgame and as the narrative of the lore continues, the franchise enters into Phase Four which deals with two things: the aftermath of Endgame, and introducing new characters. Both of these will be pivotal for the next chapters of the story which will be all about the Multiverse Saga from Phase Four up to Six as the next big bad, Kang the Conqueror is on his way. Familiar faces and new ones are coming into everyone’s way and some may even come as a shock to everyone.

Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Four dealt with how the remaining heroes are coping up after the devastation that Thanos brought upon everyone and despite the Avengers winning the battle, they lost some of the mightiest heroes on Earth like Tony Stark and Black Widow dying, and Captain America retiring. But with the loss of others comes the introduction of new ones like the Eternals, Moon Knight, Shang-Chi, and more! Of all the heroes in the MCU during Endgame, Wanda Maximoff was one of the most devastated after the death of Vision in Infinity War. Wanda did not take things lightly that she held the whole town of Westview hostage where she realized that she was destined to be the Scarlet Witch as per the Darkhold, born and not made, without a coven, and the one to bring the whole world into pieces.As Wanda succumbed to the thought of the possibility of having her family again, she went against all odds in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness where she pursued America Chavez, a girl who can punch holes through the multiverse. With this, Wanda becomes a full-on villain but in the end, she realizes the damage that she caused and brings down Wundagore resulting in her death.

The MCU has its fair share of characters but apart from those who already made their appearances, there were characters that were from other studios before or those which are yet to arrive in the MCU. For the Illuminati, they consist of various heroes from different titles and their arrival in the MCU on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was quite the fan-service. They are composed of Hayley Atwell's Captain Carter, Lashana Lynch's Maria Rambeau as Captain Marvel, Partick Stewart's Professor Charles Xavier, Anson Mount's Black Bolt, and John Krasinski's Mr. Fantastic. Unfortunately, same as the previous item, Wanda became a villain and she killed all the Illuminati members.

On the internet, there is the recurring meme of three Spider-Men pointing fingers at each other and in Spider-Man: No Way Home, this meme was finally brought to life as the three iconic Spider-Men met each other after a wish gone wrong. Tom Holland's Spider-Man botched a wish from Doctor Strange and as a result, the barriers between worlds opened up with the multiversal villains coming after him because Mysterio revealed his identity in the previous film. As the multiversal villains like Green Goblin, Doc Octopus, Lizard, Electro, and Sandman arrived, of course, their respective Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men, came too.

Just as the arrival of the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield versions of Spider-Man in No Way Home along with their respective villains, there is one more character that surprised everyone in the film: Venom. The post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home reveals that Venom got out of his universe, too, along with the others and he ended up at a bar for some drinks and to figure out about the Avengers and Thanos. There, Venom talks to a bartender about what happened during the Blip and the bartender reveals that people were turned to dust and for five years, they never returned until the Avengers brought them back. As Venom was returned to his reality, he left a drop of his symbiote which teases that someone, somewhere, could be the new host and be Venom in Earth-616.

In usual traditions in Asia, when there is a family business or something to be inherited as between two children of different sexes, it is usually the male who gets the inheritance. However, the tables were turned in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings because just as everyone thought that it would be Shang-Chi who would be the heir of the Ten Rings, it was his sister, Xu Xialing, who inherited the empire of their late father. Shang-Chi went on to became a full-fledged hero and he is expected to become part of the following Avengers movie titled The Kang Dynasty where he could bring his sister in alongside other heroes to fight evil.

Loki is considered as one of the most favorite series of the fans with the God of Mischief having his own adventures through time and space as he goes to the quest of finding his variants, only to realize that his variants were not the problem at all and that there is a bigger threat waiting at the end of time. There, Loki met Sylvie, his female variant, and they reached the Citadel at the End of Time and eventually found out that the TVA is ran by He Who Remains, a variant of Kang the Conqueror who prevents the creation of his other variants because of the threat that Kang poses to the multiverse. Much to the surprise of everyone, Sylvie did not back down as she killed He Who Remains in the finale as she felt being outcast and stripped off of her free will. Of course, that resulted in the timelines branching without control, thus, Loki Season 2 is here.

For so long, the MCU has highly anticipated the arrival of the X-Men following the deal of Disney with 20th Century Fox. As the House of Mouse acquires the studio that holds the X-Men, the once impossible arrival of mutants in the MCU was made possible and as the narrative of the franchise pushes towards their arrival, one character has already been teased to be a mutant: Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel. Her introductory series revealed that while some power exists in her bloodline being from the lineage of the people from the Mirror Dimension, the finale of Ms. Marvel revealed that the Kamala's blood was more powerful because it contains something else: it is mutated. She was the first mutant confirmed in the MCU.

Among those who are making their comeback in the MCU, the arrival of Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil, were witnessed by the audience in Spider-Man: No Way Home where the Devil of the Hell's Kitchen appeared as the lawyer of Peter Parker, and in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law as the love interest of Jennifer Walters. As for Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, he made his MCU jump in Hawkeye where he led the criminal underground called as the "tracksuit mafia." Now that both of them are in the MCU, they will be facing each other once more in Murdock's own project titled Daredevil: Born Again but unfortunately, the title is also delayed for a few months, thus, affecting the release of the movie.

Jennifer Walters is the cousin of Hulk who got her very own show, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law where it was revealed how she got the blood of Bruce Banner and became the super that she is now. Trying to juggle both work and her new abilities, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law showed what Jennifer can bring into the MCU. In fact, she already wrote her own ending!

In the finale of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, she did not like how the ending is going so, in such an uncanny fashion, she paraded to the Disney compound and demanded a not-so-cliché ending. Jen looks for Kevin and just when everyone thought that it was Kevin Feige, it turns out that it is an AI brain named KEVIN, "Knowledge Enhanced Visual Interconnectivity Nexus." In the end, she got her own ending and she's really happy with it!
