Monogatari Off Season and Monster Season has released a new trailer previewing the Orokamonogatari and Nademonogatari arcs of Nisio Isin's light novel series as well as the recently announced theme song, UNDEAD, performed by YOASOBI. The new preview also reveals that the paranormal/mystery anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan on July 6 on ABEMA. Watch the exciting new trailer for the anime below:
Studio SHAFT is in charge of the animation of Monogatari Off Season and Monster Season, which is the first new Monogatari Series anime since 2019's Zoku Owarimonogatari, ignoring the Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp compilation movie from January 2024. The anime adaptations are based on the light novel series written by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Vofan. The series also received a manga adaptation titled Bakemonogatari, illustrated by Oh! Great. The manga has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2018.
Akiyuki Shinbo is returning as the chief director of Monogatari Off and Monster Season and Midori Yoshizawa (Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story Season 2 assistant director) is the director. Akiyuki Shinbo and Fuyashi To are back as series composers, and Akio Watanabe is the character designer. The cast includes Saori Hayami as Yotsugi Ononoki, Yuka Iguchi as Tsukihi Araragi, and Kana Hanazawa as Nadeko Sengoku.
What is Monogatari Off and Monster Season about?
The Off-Season part of the anime is based on a collection of side stories released from 2015 to 2017, focusing on various characters. The collection consists of four arcs: Orokamonogatari, Wazamonogatari, Nademonogatari, and Musubimonogatari. Overall, the Off-Season collection is the fourth saga in the novel series. The Monster Season features the story of Koyomi Araragi's university life in six arcs:

The anime adaptation of Bakemonogatari premiered in 2009 and was directed by Tatsuya Oishi, who also helmed the Kizumonogatari movie trilogy, released from 2016 to 2017. The other previous anime adaptations of Monogatari were directed by Tomoyuki Itamura (Call of the Night, The Case Study of Vanitas).
