The official website of Ninja Show NARUTO has released new costume visuals of the five lead performers who will bring Masashi Kishimoto's beloved manga series to the stage as a non-verbal live production, along with a teaser video shot at Kyoto Minamiza that features Yuri Takahashi as Naruto Uzumaki.
The images show the actors in character as Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, and Kakashi Hatake, giving the first clear look at how the Hidden Leaf Village will appear in this large-scale theatrical presentation. The reveal arrives as the production prepares for its long engagement at the historic venue.

Ninja Show NARUTO is set to occupy Kyoto Minamiza Theater from February through June 2027. Seats for the February and March performances went on sale beginning August 25, with later months scheduled to follow. The historic theater will host the extended run as the production blends traditional stagecraft with modern spectacle.
Go Ueki, whose prior stage work includes Attack on Titan -the Musical- and Sailor Moon -Shining Theater Shinagawa Tokyo-, directs the show from a script by Shinjiro Kameda. Neil Dorward, recognized for his contributions to Cirque du Soleil, serves as global creative consultant. Their collaboration aims to translate the ninja world into a form that does not depend on spoken dialogue.
The production follows the Childhood Saga of the original Naruto manga, tracing Naruto Uzumaki’s early years as he trains and forms bonds with his comrades in the Hidden Leaf Village. Live performers convey ninjutsu through physical movement, projection mapping, illusions, and the built-in stage machinery of Minamiza rather than spoken lines. The approach is designed to make the action readable for audiences regardless of language.
A separate Hollywood live-action film adaptation of Naruto is also moving forward under director Destin Daniel Cretton for Lionsgate. A worldwide casting search for the core members of Team 7 began in July 2026, with Kishimoto publicly supporting the project and stating he looks forward to seeing his characters realized on screen. Reports indicate principal photography is targeted for January through August 2027, with additional roles expected to be cast later.
Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden remain available to stream alongside Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. The sequel manga Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto with supervision from Masashi Kishimoto, continues serialization.
