Tsurumaikada's sports drama manga series Medalist is getting an anime adaptation early next year, and the production team of the anime has revealed a new trailer, new cast members, and the release window for the series. The TV anime will broadcast in Japan as part of the TV Asaha "NUMAnimation" programming block starting in January 2025. Studio ENGI is animating the TV anime, with director Yasutaka Yamamoto helming it. Watch the first trailer for Medalist anime below:
The trailer features Inori Yuitsuka and Tsukasa Akeuraji, who will be voiced by Kana Ichinose (Kaoru Ryuzaki from Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Theater) and Yama Ichida (Aqua from Oshi no Ko, Jinshi from The Apothecary Diaries). Chinatsu Kameyama is in charge of the anime's character designs, and Jukki Hanada is working on the series composition and screenplay.

What is Medalist anime about?
The anime is based on the Medalist manga series written and illustrated by Tsurumaikada, and it has been serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon since May 2020. As of December 2022, the series has been compiled into seven volumes The manga series won at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Award for the general category. Kodansha licensed the manga in English, and the publisheer has been releasing it since May 2021. The company provided a plot description for Medalist:
