It has been half a decade since the last movie of Lucasfilm for the galaxy far, far away and now that the franchise is getting back on its feet after their big screen hiatus, the studio has already lined up what comes next for Star Wars when it comes to movies. The upcoming Daisy Ridley Star Wars film is one of those which are already announced by Lucasfilm to be under development and recently, the announcement of another movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu, casted some doubts on what is happening to the movie return of Rey Skywalker. To clear the air, Lucasfilm debunks the delay rumors by clarifying that the movie is still under development.

The announcement of The Mandalorian & Grogu has brought a lot of joy to the fans of the Star Wars franchise to finally see the characters from the Disney Plus series make their jump to the big screens under the helm of their creator, Jon Favreau. However, this announcement casted doubts over the upcoming Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie considering that the film was announced first but is yet to get even an official title. As rumors surrounding the delay of the upcoming Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie surfaced, a report from Gizmodo claims that Lucasfilm has debunked the delay rumors regarding the possibility of scribe Steven Knight leaving and clarifies that the film remains under production.

In the report, it said that Steven Knight remains to be the scribe of the upcoming Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie and that Lucasfilm is waiting for the next draft that Knight will send to the studio. This clears the air surrounding the rumors on the film and that the announcement of The Mandalorian & Grogu has not affected the upcoming Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie.

The upcoming Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie may have not divulged too much information yet but there are details that are already out for everyone to be hyped about the film. It, undoubtedly, marks the return of Daisy Ridley as Rey Skywalker and the title of the film is rumored to either be A New Beginning or New Jedi Order but many are calling it the latter. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy personally announced the film during the Star Wars Celebration 2023 and it will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

Kennedy also revealed that upcoming Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie will be set 15 years after the sequel trilogy's last film, The Rise of Skywalker, where the galaxy far, far away is still in chaos after the First Order. In the film, Rey Skywalker is teased to fulfill her promise to Luke to rebuild what remains in the Jedi Order. Without any announcement of delay confirmed, upcoming Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie is eyeing for an April 2024 filming as per its listing on Production List.
