One of the upcoming films of Lucasfilm is the return of Daisy Ridley as Rey Skywalker following her last appearance in The Rise of Skywalker in the sequel trilogy. The actress just revealed the reason behind coming back to the franchise after half a decade of waiting.
Daisy Ridley's upcoming Star Wars movie marks her return as Rey Skywalker in a film to be helmed by Ms. Marvel co-director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. While there are still a lot of details yet to be revealed about the movie, the actress just shared the reason for her return to the franchise which has a lot to do with the current track of the galaxy far, far away. Speaking with AlloCiné, Ridley said that Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy was the first to break the news to her:
I was actually making [her] own film last year, and Kathy Kennedy said she wanted to have breakfast. So there I was, having my breakfast, and she goes 'Oh, by the way, we might do another one. So I thought about it for a little bit and once I knew what the story was and everything I knew it was something I really wanted to do. I think it's a really fantastic exploration of the Star Wars world. It's a really cool way of taking the story on in a bit of a different direction.
While there are no story details revealed yet about her upcoming Star Wars movie, such statement of Ridley on her return would make one wonder what her highly anticipated reprisal of the role would be and what it would mean to the bigger Star Wars universe.

Aside from the director of the film, the writer of the movie was revealed to be Steven Knight following the exit of Damon Lindelof. Production List reported that the upcoming Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie is eyeing for an April 2024 filming.
The upcoming Daisy Ridley Star Wars film is set 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker where the galaxy far, far away is still in chaos after the First Order which left the Jedi Order in shambles. Rey Skywalker is set to fulfill her promise to Luke about rebuilding what is left of the Jedi Order. Reportedly, the title of the film could either be A New Beginning or New Jedi Order but so far, Lucasfilm has not yet revealed the official title.
Daisy Ridley's Star Wars movie is set to start filming in April 2024. The film has no release date yet.
