The galaxy far, far away is in existence for almost half a century already and the franchise continues to enamor the fans with its ever-expanding story. However, in the recent years, for around half a decade, Star Wars has yet to feature another film and focused on the Disney Plus series that they have but that doesn't mean that there won't be one in the near future because Lucasfilm is just calm and unrushed with their upcoming projects. As Ms. Marvel co-director enters Lucasfilm as the director of the untitled Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy says that is is about time to have a woman-shaped Star Wars film.
Daisy Ridley's upcoming reprisal of the role of Rey Skywalker in Star Wars has been highly anticipated as it marks Lucasfilm's return to the movie scene after almost half a decade of focusing on Disney Plus shows. During the Star Wars Celebration in April last year, it was officially announced that Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, co-director of Ms. Marvel, would helm the upcoming Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie. Speaking with CNN, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy shared how it is about time for a woman-shaped Star Wars film after years of men directing the Lucasfilm movies for almost half a century:
Previous Star Wars movies and series were all helmed by men with George Lucas, Dave Filoni, Rian Johnson, Gareth Edwards, and more. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy would be among the first women to helm a Star Wars project. She co-directed Ms. Marvel which has a woman-shaped approach on the story of Kamala Khan being introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kamala Khan's debut in the MCU had the touch of Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's creativity, not only in terms of the culture of the hero, but also on how being a woman can be a superhero that could change the future.

Daisy Ridley's Star Wars movie is an upcoming film that marks the return of Rey Skywalker in the narrative of the galaxy far, far away. It will be set at a time when chaos is all over the place after the First Order.
