The Grand Theft Auto VI trailer that Rockstar Games released in December 2023 has already become one of the most recreated videogame trailers. The trailer has set the stage for what is sure to be a groundbreaking addition to the open-world action-adventure franchise, with stunning visuals, a compelling Bonnie & Clyde-inspired storyline, and an incredibly-detailed state of Leonida, which is based on Florida.
As a result of Rockstar Games’ insane attention to detail and the game’s realistic portrayal of Florida, fans have recreated GTA 6 trailer frame by frame using visuals from other popular games such as Cyberpunk 2077, Minecraft, Roblox, Red Dead Redemption 2, The Sims 4, Saint's Row 2, other Grand Theft Auto games, and other strange ways like LEGO recreations and real-life advertisements.
Now, Hyundai's motorsports division has released a live-action adaptation of the popular teaser, and despite the fact that they're wearing their rally gear, it's a pretty decent recreation, and fans are loving it. Hyundai's parody is just about the same length as the original GTA 6 trailer, roughly 90 seconds, and it's called Grand Test Auto XXIV. The video was made as a promo for the team's upcoming rally season (XXIV is 24, which is the current season.)
The parody video uses the original audio of the GTA 6 trailer featuring Tom Petty's Love is a Long Road, and features clips of in-action rally driving of Hyundai cars, newly-acted scenes between the racers as they recreated the iconic dialogues and poses from the trailer that got fans hyped.
It's a hilarious idea from the Hyundai marketing team, and fans have praised the parody on social media, with some claiming that it's great enough to make them buy one of their vehicles.
"I never thought I’d say this but I’m a proud Hyundai owner," Redditor Simply Param said.
"Buying a Hyundai right away. Closest I get to GTA 6 right now," another user, Chiele Piele, wrote.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently in development for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and it's scheduled to launch in 2025.
