
After the first match of the U-20 tryouts between Team A led by Shidou and Rin and Team B led by Eita and Tabito came to a surprising conclusion at the end of Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 3, fans are ready to see what's next in the anime's story arc that's being dubbed as BLUE LOCK vs. U-20 JAPAN. The stakes are now higher, since the winners of these matches will be qualified to play in the match against Japan's greatest players, but the losers will be forced to leave and lose their soccer careers forever.
The sports thriller anime, which is based on the original manga by author Muneyuki Kaneshiro and artist Yusuke Nomura, has another exciting match for BLUE LOCK vs. U-20 JAPAN, and today, the official website and accounts of the anime have revealed the preview stills for Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 4, which is set to release this Saturday.

What will happen in Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 4?
The final scenes of last week's episode of Blue Lock Season 2 teased the next match between Team A and Team C, which will see the former best friends Nagi Seishiro and Reo Mikage competing against each other. Each of them will have to prove themselves worth of a spot on the U-20 team, or risk being sent home and kiss their soccer careers good-bye. We can expect this match to be an emotional one as both players are motivated to improve and prove themselves on the soccer field.
According to the English translation in Blue Lock's official website, the title of the fourth episode of the anime's second season is Chameleon. The official synopsis for Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 4 reads:
After the match against Team B, Kiyoshi, Hiori and Nanase congratulated each other on their good fight, while thinking about ways to improve the reproducibility of the new sensation of "thinking by reflex" that he had acquired in the match. At the same time, the second match of the aptitude test (tryout) began between Team A, which replaced all members except Rin and Shido, and Team C, led by Yukimiya Kenyuu and Nagi Seishiro. Before fighting together with Nagi for the first time in a long time, Reo was motivated to prove his own growth. At the beginning of the match, Yukimiya displayed overwhelming dribbling skills worthy of a TOP6 player. What is Blue Lock about?
The anime is based on the award-winning Blue Lock (ブルーロック, Burū Rokku) manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. The sports/thriller series began publishing in 2018 under Weekly Shonen Magazine, and it won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category. Crunchyroll, which is streaming the first season of the anime, shared a plot description for Blue Lock:
Japan’s desire for World Cup glory leads the Japanese Football Association to launch a new rigorous training program to find the national team’s next striker. Three hundred high school players are pitted against each other for the position, but only one will come out on top. Who among them will be the striker to usher in a new era of Japanese soccer?

As of today, Blue Lock manga has 30 volumes published, with Vol. 31 recently released on October 14, 2024. The series is being published in English by Kodansha USA, and there are currently 27 volumes released.
