Viewers may not have moved on yet from the fear Go Min-si has instilled in them with The Frog and the love story of Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min in Love Next Door from Netflix’s K-content lineup for August 2024, but another set of great titles is about to arrive. The streamer has just announced its upcoming Korean movie, series, and reality show for September 2024, and everything looks worth watching. From Kim Woo-bin’s Officer Black Belt to Han So-hee and Park Seo-joon’s return in Gyeongseong Creature Season 2, here are the four new K-content coming to Netflix next month.

1 Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist
International fans can now watch Yoo Se-yeop’s story in Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist. Despite being a genius doctor for the royal family, he’s expelled from the capital due to a conspiracy. He ends up working in the mysterious but beautiful village of Gyesu, where he meets the eccentric teacher Gye Ji-han and the widow Seo Eun-woo and becomes the true doctor he wants to be.
Featuring Kim Min-jae, Kim Sang-kyung, and Kim Hyang-gi in the lead, the series first aired on tvN in August and ended in September 2022. It was directed by Park Won-guk and was based on the novel of the same title that won the Excellence Award in the 2016 Korea Story Contest. The series is now available on Netflix.
2 Officer Black Belt
Fans are about to see a different Kim Woo-bin in the upcoming Netflix K-movie Officer Black Belt. Far different from his previous K-drama, like The Heirs, he will be seen as a funny martial artist who will help Kim Sung-kyun look after several ex-cons to keep the peace in the country. But don’t belittle Woo-bin. Playing the role of Lee Jung-do, he’s no ordinary martial artist, as he possesses a total of nine black belts in judo, taekwondo, and kendo.
Lee Hae-young and Kim Yool-hoo also join the show, though their roles are yet to be revealed. Officer Black Belt is written and directed by the Midnight Runners and Bloodhounds helmer Jason Kim. It’s scheduled for release on September 13.
3 Culinary Class Wars
Netflix is about to introduce its first-ever Korean culinary reality show, Culinary Class Wars. One hundred talented chefs will compete to become the best in the country. From hidden masters, aka black spoon, to the star chefs, aka white spoon, the battle will be so intense as they’re being looked after by master restauranteur Paik Jong-won and chef Anh Sung-jae of the three-starred Mosu Seoul restaurant.
Details about the chefs who will join the series have yet to be revealed. Culinary Class War is slated to release on September 17.
4 Gyeongseong Creature Season 2
So-hee and Seo-joon are about to take their battle against an elite group who experiments on Najin in 2024 Seoul in Gyeongseong Creature Season 2. However, this time, Seo-joon will be playing a different character, a big question the new season has to answer when it finally releases. The first season finale also ended with a major cliffhanger, with So-hee swallowing the parasite that probably helps her survive.
So, from Seo-joon’s new identity to the mystery of So-hee’s survival and unageing look despite the almost eight-decade time jump, the second season is expected to tie all these loose ends. In addition to So-hee and Seo-joon, Lee Mu-saeng and Bae Hyeon-seong join Gyeongseong Creature Season 2, which is set to be released on September 27.
