Christmas will come early for K-drama fans. Just when they thought it would take time for Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee to return to the small screen, Netflix finally announced that Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 would be scheduled to release on September 27. Not only that, but a new teaser was also revealed, showing modern-day Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee as they’re about to take the battle in 2024 Seoul after facing a monster in 1945 Gyeongseong in the first season.

You can watch the Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 teaser below:

The Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 teaser begins with So-hee recalling everything that happened in the first season after swallowing Najin. As she wakes up deep in the water, a modern-day Seo-joon appears, revealing that he hasn’t remembered anything since everything has faded away. When So-hee meets Seo-joon again, she can’t help but wonder how he has managed to be in the present after almost eight decades.

“My name is Jang Ho-jae,” Seo-joon tells So-hee after calling him “Master Jang.”

The preview also features the new stars who will join the show. Lee Mu-saeng oversees the new experiment about Najin. With this revelation, So-hee is surprised that these experiments are not over yet. Bae Hyeon-seong then appears, greeting everyone as a tentacle of the monster comes forth.

From there, the action begins as So-hee finally faces Hyeon-seong. Strange creatures chase after Seo-joon while So-hee fights off a group of people dressed in black. Hyeon-seong and Seo-joon then engage in a one-on-one battle. With the stakes higher and the battles more intense, So-hee confesses her fears to Seo-joon as the teaser ends with their embrace.

Netflix has also released character posters for So-hee, Seo-joon, Mu-saeng, and Hyeon-seong. The visuals hint at Seo-joon and So-hee’s transformation after time-traveling from 1945 to 2024. Seo-joon is ready to fight, preparing his fist for battle, while So-hee holds her phone to her ear, with veins emerging on her face, seemingly teasing her transformation after swallowing the parasite. Mu-saeng looks serious as he has a bottle of Najin, and Hyeon-seong smiles as he prepares for high-octane action.

What to Expect from Gyeongseong Creature Season 2

Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 will see So-hee and Seo-joon take their battle against people who want to use Najin for their own evil desires. The new season will answer questions about So-hee’s survival after ingesting the parasite in the first season finale and the uncanny resemblance of Ho-jae to Master Jang. Fans also have to see the roles Mu-saeng and Hyeon-seong are about to play as the sinister turn of events continues.

You can read the Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 synopsis below:

The series, which captured the heartbreaking romance between two people standing against the tragedy borne from monstrous human desire in 1945 Gyeongseong, now takes viewers on a journey to 2024 Seoul. This season uncovers the never-ending ties of fate — both good and bad — that weaves through time. Ho-jae, a man deceptively similar to Tae-sang, and Chae-ok, a survivor of the Gyeongseong spring, navigate these complex relationships in the modern era.

So far, Netflix has only revealed four cast members for Gyeongseong Creature Season 2. So-hee will reprise her role as Chae-ok, while Seo-joon will now portray Ho-jae after being known as Tae-sang in the first season. Mu-saeng will also join the show as Kuroko Leader, who commands the Kurokos, an elite group of operatives who follow secret orders and craft a sinister plan in the labs of Jeonseung Biotech. Alternatively, Hyeong-seong will be seen as Seung-jo, who pursues Ho-jae and Chae-ok.
