Zack Snyder is building his own universe on Netflix with the Rebel Moon movies that he have which was originally his pitch to Lucasfilm before the studio was acquired by Disney in 2012. Unfortunately, things did not work out between Zack Snyder and Lucasfilm but the director still kept the idea and brought it to life recently under Netflix. Looking back, Snyder revisits the time when he first pitched Rebel Moon to be part of the galaxy far, far away and that time, he said to himself, "I’m gonna fix 'Star Wars!'"

There is no surprise when Zack Snyder revealed that he is a fan of Star Wars because, truth be told, a lot of filmmakers are fans of the work of George Lucas and all those who worked after him. Of course, being such a fan, it would have been a dream come true to become part of the galaxy far, far away but this did not happen to Zack Snyder who pitched to Lucasfilm a more mature Star Wars content way back in 2012. Snyder recently spoke with The Playlist where he recounted the time he pitched Rebel Moon to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy which was supposed to be an R-Rated Star Wars movie, he shared:

They’re down for an R-rated movie for one, and it’s gonna be like some Jedi’s going nuts! And I remember thinking, "They need me! This is cool, I’m gonna fix 'Star Wars!'" Also, because I had some issues with some of the [prequel] decisions—I’m not gonna say what it was, but I just felt like [Lucasfilm] had gone astray a little bit; I know that’s sacrilegious to say, but that was my feeling.

Snyder was optimistic about his pitch at that time but unfortunately, the director was not given a chance to bring the movie under Lucasfilm. Thankfully, Snyder did not give up on his dream and he brought Rebel Moon to Netflix which recently dropped the first part of the film with Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire. Not having to wait too long, the second part, Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver is arriving on Netflix soon.

When is Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver coming out on Netflix?

Even before Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire came out on Netflix, the release date of Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver has already been set in stone as it will be arriving on Netflix on April 19, 2024. After the release of the first movie on the streaming platform, an official teaser trailer was dropped by Netflix for Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver to tease the fans of the movie series on what comes next to the Zack Snyder universe on the streamer. To clarify, Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver is not a sequel, but rather, it is the second part of the first movie which is something like how Netflix chopped the release of their popular shows into two parts for their release.

Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver is set to pick up from the events of the first movie as Kora now has an army to bring into battle against the people of Balisarius. Kora and Noble will bring forth their sides to prepare for the battle of a lifetime and what makes it more interesting is how those under Kora would take in the fact that she is actually the adopted daughter of Balisarius.
