It has become common for actors to take items that have become valuable to them from their TV or movie sets. Many have confessed to doing this, including Wednesday star Jenna Ortega. After spending several months filming the first season of the hit Netflix series, she revealed that she took a specific piece of art featuring the monster.

On BuzzFeed Celeb’s The Puppy Interview to celebrate the release of the upcoming sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Ortega was asked if she had taken anything from a set after the filming wrapped. From there, she revealed she had stolen a poster of the monster on the set of Wednesday, seemingly referring to the mutated species of the outcast Tyler Galpin, played by Hunter Doohan, called the Hyde.

“There was a character who had all these sketches of the monster, so I kept one of those and put it in a nice little frame,” she said.

However, if there was one thing she wanted to take home, it was the Handbook for the Recently Deceased from Beetlejuice 2. The said book was a guide for spirits new to the afterlife. It was first seen in the 1988 original Tim Burton movie Beetlejuice, where Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara Maitland (Geena Davis) used it after their tragic accident.

“The one thing I was so upset I didn't take was probably one of the Handbooks for the Recently Deceased, just because they are actual books so that when you actually go through them, there are graphics and text and stuff. The prop team killed it,” she continued.

Meanwhile, fans will soon see Ortega as the super sleuth teenager with psychic powers in Wednesday Season 2. The show started production in May in Ireland, and several new cast members, including Emmy-winner Steve Buscemi, have been announced as they join the ghoulish ride.

“Our goal this season was to discover some fresh faces as well as invite some acting legends we’ve always admired to join Jenna and the gang at Nevermore,” co-showrunners Miles Millar and Al Gough told Tudum. “When we survey the talent we’ve assembled we could not be more thrilled. Mission accomplished.”

What is Wednesday Season 2 about?

Wednesday Season 2 will see the return of the titular character to Nevermore Academy, where she’s about to begin investigating new supernatural mysteries. The show promises more “torture” is about to take place, and Wednesday herself has no plans to “please anybody.”

“[Wednesday] sticks to her guns, and she’s not out to please anybody,” Ortega told Tudum. “Which, as someone who used to be an immense people pleaser, I really respect.”

In addition to Ortega, Emma Myers will return as Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene, Georgie Farmer as Ajax, and Victor Dorobantu as Thing. Of course, Catherine Zeta-Jones will reprise her role as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzman as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Deputy Richie Santiago, Jamie McShane as Sheriff Donovan Galpin, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.

As the world of Wednesday expands in the second season, new series regulars have been revealed, including Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor. The original Addams Family actor Christopher Lloyd will join the show as a guest star, along with Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.

With a much bigger second season, Ortega may have more stuff to bring home when the show finally wraps filming. Who knows, it may once again involve something related to the series’ villain.

All episodes of Wednesday Season 1 are available on Netflix.
