Jo Jung-suk’s dream of debuting as a singer-songwriter will finally come true in Netflix’s upcoming unscripted series A-List to Playlist. The famed K-drama actor will get the help of his fellow South Korean stars as he goes on a musical journey for 100 days. To prove this, his former Hospital Playlist co-actor Kim Dae-myung leads the music video for his original song, Champagne, opposite Jung-suk’s on-screen partner in 2016 Don’t Dare to Dream, Gong Hyo-jin.

You can watch the teaser for the Champagne music video below:

The teaser starts with a glass of bumbling champagne before Jung-suk’s romantic voice plays in the background. Dae-myung pops up the bottle and pours some into the glass, perfectly capturing his affectionate scene with Hyo-jin, who’s by his side. As the two start dancing happily together, Jung-suk continues to express his emotions through his song, singing “Smile, my dear.”

Though the teaser only runs for a minute, it leaves a lasting impression that increases anticipation for Jung-suk’s new song. The warm ambiance of the music video’s setting hints at Jung-suk's love for his craft.

Fortunately, fans are about to see this and more when A-List to Playlist finally hits Netflix on August 30. In addition to the full release of Jung-suk’s track, the show will also feature behind-the-scenes details of the making of the music video. It will also see Jung Kyung-ho’s participation as he directs the music video.

Hence, in a statement to Naver (as translated by Soompi), Jung-suk expressed deep appreciation and thankfulness to Kyung-ho. He also thanked Hyo-jin and Myung for being part of it.

“I was amazed and deeply appreciated that actor Jung Kyung-ho directed the music video,” he said. “I’m also very grateful to Gong Hyo Jin and Kim Dae Myung for giving me such a precious and unforgettable experience.”

Alternatively, the show’s producer, Yang Jung-woo, teased that A-List to Playlist would be a story about “luck and surprising twists.” With the help of Jung-suk’s fellow South Korean stars, they managed to create an exciting reality series as the former worked hard to become the singer-songwriter he had been dreaming of.

“Join us for an entertaining, intense, and emotional journey,” he continued.
