Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers inspired by Grand Theft Auto VI during a recent State of Play presentation. The designs incorporate the palm tree motif that has been used across Grand Theft Auto VI’s marketing along with the large VI Roman numerals on the touchpad. These visual elements immediately connect the hardware to the game’s distinctive aesthetic and setting.

PlayStation Blog detailed the new DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition. The center of each controller features a purple pearlescent material that helps give the designs their distinctive look. Both versions aim to reflect different sides of Vice City’s personality through their color schemes and finishes.

The announcement explained that “the black and white limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers each capture the essence of Vice City, from bright days along the coast to vibrant city nights.” This framing positions the white edition as representing the city’s sunlit, coastal side while the black edition channels its nighttime energy. The dual approach lets players choose the atmosphere that best matches their preferred view of the location.

Further description noted that “both editions feature a shimmering, color-shifting finish that brings together the hues of a Vice City sunset and the glow of neon lights. They both also feature custom palm tree details molded directly into the controller, adding a unique tactile element alongside official Grand Theft Auto VI branding.” These molded palm trees and color-shifting surfaces create both visual and physical details that distinguish the controllers from standard DualSense models. The branding and textured elements reinforce the connection to the upcoming title.

Both limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers will launch starting on November 19 for a recommended retail price of $84.99 USD / ¥12,480 (including tax) / €84.99 / £74.99. Pre-orders begin on September 10 at 10:00 a.m. local time, with limited quantities available. Exact launch timing and availability may vary slightly by region.

The new DualSense controllers will be offered through PlayStation Direct in regions where the service operates and at traditional retailers. The black edition will be available in limited quantities exclusively through direct.playstation.com where available, while the white edition will also reach participating retailers. Players ordering through PlayStation Direct can take advantage of free launch-day delivery on eligible pre-orders.

These GTA 6 designs represent the latest in a long line of limited-edition controllers for the DualSense. Previous examples include the popular Astro Bot controller that sold out quickly after release. Another notable release was the limited edition DualSense produced for Sony’s ill-fated Concord, which has since become a sought-after collector’s item among some players.

The controllers arrive just as GTA 6 prepares for its November 19 launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Their release on the same day as the game itself gives players an official way to match their hardware to the title’s Vice City aesthetic from the moment they begin playing.
