Spider-Man 2 took the gaming community by storm when it was released back in October. The hype around this game was incredibly high, and it looks like it did deliver on its promises. Although the game unexpectedly did not win any awards this year, it was a great addition to the Insomniac Games trilogy nonetheless, and as we expected, the developers aren’t done with the game yet.
There are a lot of highly-requested features for Spider-Man 2 that are yet to be added to the game, such as New Game+, which allows players to progress through the story again while keeping all their upgrades. Insomniac Games acknowledged in a recent tweet that players are “eagerly awaiting” new features for the game and that the company is working hard to deliver these features.
The company mentioned that they are aiming to release the next major update for the game in early 2024. The features they are working on include the ability to change the time of day, swap tendril colors, and replay missions. However, they claimed that the team needs some more time to fine-tune the upcoming update before launching it for the players to enjoy.
They also mentioned that they're going to post the complete list of new features close to the release. In the statement attached below, Insomniac Games wrote, "We have been working vigilantly on these features and require more testing to ensure the quality is up to our standards. We are now targeting Early 2024 for the next game update and we'll have a feature-complete list closer to its release."
Will Insomniac Games' Spider-Man 2 be on PC?
Since Spider-Man 2 only launched on the PS5, PC fans are still waiting to play the game themselves. Unfortunately for them, it looks like there is still quite a long wait before the game will be ported to PC. Based on the recent release pattern of Insomniac Games, we can expect Spider-Man 2 to be ported to PC by 2025, meaning two years after the game’s initial launch.
Insomniac Games usually takes this long to port their games to PC, as can be observed from two of their recent titles, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Unfortunately, till then, the only option for PC players is to either get a PS5 or watch YouTube gameplay of the game.
