Star Wars: Visions Star Brian Tee Hints Potential Return of a Fan-Favorite Character

Star Wars: Visions actor Brian Tee teased the possibility of returning as his unnamed Ronin in the ongoing anthology series or a different Star Wars title in the future. Tee, who voiced Ronin in 2021, was at the red carpet of the Independent Spirit Awards, and there, he was asked by Collider if he would be interested in returning to the Star Wars universe, either as his Visions role or as another character, and he hinted that he could be revisiting the franchise — though he held back and didn't confirm exactly what that might entail.

"Oh, absolutely no question," he replied, adding, "And I think, you know, I don't want to give any spoilers, but we are definitely in the works right now, [I'm] probably doing something in the near and distant future, and I'll probably stop there before I go any further."

Tee's response certainly suggests that he may revisit the Star Wars universe, though it's still unclear if that means that he'll return for Visions or an entirely different new project. Tee's character appeared in the first season's Episode 1, The Duel, which featured Ronin as a mysterious ex-Sith wanderer who protects a village from bandits and their lightsaber-wielding leader. The episode was praised for its stunning visual style inspired by Akira Kurosawa's samurai movies and its fresh take on the Force-wielding samurai archetype. The episode was such a hit that Ronin's story was expended in other media, being featured in both a one-shot comic and the 2021 novel, Ronin: A Visions Novel, by Emma Mieko Candon.

Star Wars: Visions Season 3 is coming this year

Back in November, Deadline reported that Star Wars: Visions Season 3 will be released in 2025, and Lucasfilm and Disney confirmed that the new season will return to the animated spin-off's anime roots. After Season 2's episodes were developed by a more global collection of animation studios such as Triggerfish, Aardman, and Cartoon Saloon, the announcement confirmed that it will feature nine short films from various Japanese anime studios, including WIT Studio (Attack on Titan) and Studio Trigger (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners). The other studios include David Production, Kinema citrus Co., Kamikaze Douga, ANIMA, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, and Polygon Pictures.
