Disney recently spoke up on the mysterious Star Wars inquisitor and how the villain will show up in the upcoming Ahsoka series, despite having been pulled in the Star Wars timeline much earlier. The Inquisitor, who goes by the name of Marrok, can be seen wearing black gear and still carries a red double-bladed lightsaber with a circular hilt.

According to a databank entry shared on the Star Wars website, Marrok used to be an Inquisitor who used to hunt Jedi for the Empire. However, Marrok gave up the Inquisitor title and became a mercenary who was hired by Morgan Elsbeth so that he could carry out his evil deeds. Marrok was revealed in June, causing a lot of confusion among the fans of the franchise.

The confusion stems from the fact that Ahsoka is set at a time when Inquisitors are no longer present. The Inquisitors were originally introduced in Star Wars in the Rebels animated series. After this series, they eventually managed to make their way to live action in Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, the Inquisitors have never gone beyond the particular time period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

It was strange for fans to see the mysterious Inquisitor appear in the show because Ahsoka is set in the era of the New Republic, alongside The Mandalorian and after Return of the Jedi. However, the writers and directors must have something exciting in mind since an Inquisitor is once again showing up in a Star Wars series.
