Much to the excitement of many MCU fans, the X-Men and Deadpool are finally arriving to the franchise, expanding the current narrative, and welcoming fan-favorite characters into the MCU lore. Deadpool 3 is one of the first to enter the franchise and Ryan Reynolds will be back to suit up as the Merc With A Mouth with his best pal, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. In his speech, Reynolds made a promise not to "f--k up" Deadpool 3 and he even called out the Oscars to look out for the movie under the VFX category. The actor said:
When will Deadpool 3 come out?
Deadpool 3 marks the return of Ryan Reynolds as the Merc With a Mouth and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine where they would now form part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which makes them an exciting addition to the current narrative with the combination of action and humor. It is the only movie in the roster of Marvel Studios for the franchise that will be out this year and it will be happening on July 26, 2024 in theaters. The film will be under the Phase Five of the MCU.
There is still no official synopsis for the upcoming movie. It is expected that Deadpool 3 will be retaining its R-Rating just like the previous films and if so, it will be the first ever MCU movie to be rated as such. The movie is currently under production following the delays it faced during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year.
Both Deadpool and Deadpool 2 are now available to stream on Disney Plus.
