Rockstar Games, one of the biggest videogame developers in the world, is getting ready to reveal the next Grand Theft Auto game, and everyone is hyped for the big reveal this month. In fact, the studio already confirmed that "Trailer 1" will be released on Tuesday, December 5 at 9 a.m. ET. It has been ten years since GTA 5 was released, and five years since the developer's last game, Red Dead Redemption 2. A massive leak in September 2022 unveiled over an hour of early gameplay from GTA 6, but since it was all early development footage, it was hard to make out anything substantial.
Now, it looks like Rockstar is making big moves to kickstart the marketing for the most highly-anticipated game in history. The developer has been active on social media, often sharing updates to its existing games and resharing fan posts. However, the studio has erased all of that from their official Instagram page. Rockstar deleted thousands of Instagram posts on their page, leaving only the announcement of the GTA 6 trailer date. It's likely that the company is clearing the way for new images and video clips that will be released along with the GTA 6 trailer, and sometimes, pages will create collages out of multiple Instagram posts, but it's unclear at this point.
The first GTA 6 trailer is expected to break records
At the time of this writing, the single Instagram post that Rockstar put up has over 5.6 million likes, and the tweet on X has over 1.9 million likes, so expect the hype to continue after the first trailer is released this Tuesday. The GTA 6 reveal is likely going to be huge, and it will likely break all kinds of records. We still don't know idea what exactly the first trailer will reveal, but fans can expect to catch a glimpse of a modernized Vice City, Rockstar's fictionalized version of Miami, Florida.
We might also get our first official look at the two main characters, Jason and Lucia, and hopefully, the trailer will confirm the leaked details about the weapons, vehicles, and new gameplay features we can expect from the most highly-anticipated game. This weekend, a massive GTA 6 leak that allegedly came from a developer's son showed a look at downtown areas of Vice City, but Rockstar hasn't officially confirmed if the footages are legitimate. Hopefully, the GTA 6 trailer will also confirm a 2024 release window but fans shouldn't be surprised if they announce a 2025 launch date.
