Netflix is set to introduce Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition to its impressive and ever-expanding roster of video games. The GTA Trilogy is a remaster of some of the most popular GTA games, which are GTA III, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas. Fans can start pre-registering for the game from November 30.
The game is going to be available both in the Netflix mobile app and will also be offered separately to Netflix subscribers in Google Play and App Store. Netflix has made it a trend to offer the most popular and biggest titles on its streaming platform, such as Spiritfarer, Before Your Eyes, Immortality, Dead Cells, Kentucky Route Zero, and the two Oxenfree video games.
Moreover, the upcoming year is all set to bring Hades, Katana Zero, and Death’s Door to your door. It might not be the biggest collection of games, but it sure is curated quite well, especially considering the fact that many of these games (not counting the GTA: Trilogy) are available exclusively on mobile via a Netflix subscription.
However, some of the latest reports claim that Netflix games aren’t played by the majority of its users, and the streaming service has never really revealed any details on what are the most popular games and who’s playing which ones. Nevertheless, Netflix seems to be gaining tons of success simply by offering commercially successful video games with a lot of name recognition.
Adding the GTA Trilogy, a collection of games from one of the most popular franchises to ever exist in game history, seems to be another great decision made by the service that’s done nothing but introduce epic games in its two-year history. Netflix subscribers can expect Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition to become available on iOS and Android via the Netflix app on December 14.
What's the GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy?
Rockstar Games launched the trilogy back in 2021, which included the aforementioned GTA games. These games were remastered by the developers to include enhanced mechanics and graphics. GTA 3 explores the story of a character named Claude, GTA Vice City follows the adventures of Tommy Verecetti, and GTA San Andreas features Carl Johnson as he returns to Los Santos to find that nothing is as it used to be.
These games instantly rose to fame when they were released back in the day, and even though Rockstar could’ve done a better job with the GTA Trilogy, these games still take players on a nostalgic ride. So, once Netflix introduces the trilogy soon, you can once again dive into the GTA universe while you wait for the GTA 6 trailer to come out in early December.
