Synecdoche‘s Plus-Sized Elf (Elf-san wa Yaserarenai) manga is is getting an anime adaptation that's scheduled to premiere in 2024. The announcement comes with a teaser visual featuring the main character Erufuda, the overweight elf who traveled to our world in order to eat French fries, but became too heavy to return to her own world. Details about the anime's production haven't been revealed yet.
Ayaso Ito will be voicing Erufuda. She is known for playing Kaoruko Hanayagi in the media franchise Revue Starlight, and Arisa Ichigaya in the band-based anime series BanG Dream!. Here's what Ito said about her new role:

Plus-Sized Elf anime is based on the manga of the same title (Japanese: Erufu-san wa Yaserarenai, lit. 'The Elf Can't Lose Weight') written and illustrated by Synecdoche. It started serialization in 2016, and was originally published by Wani Books' Comic Gum website until 2021 with a total of 47 chapters, compiled into 8 volumes. Akita Shoten is the current publisher, and the manga inspired a follow-up series titled Plus-Sized Elf: Super Sized!, which published its first tankoubon volume in 2022. At the time of this writing, there are currently two volumes. It's being serialized in Akita Shonen’s Dokodemo Young Champion.
