Today, the official website of PALETTE has announced that the four-part visual novel series 9-nine- is getting a TV anime adaptation. A new teaser was released along with the announcement, which you can watch below:

To commemorate the anime project, the franchise will hold its 9-nine- Symphonic Concert 2 with Animation on September 8 at Tachikawa Stage Garden in Tokyo. Back in October 17, 2021, 9-nine- previously held a symphonic concert, without the "animation" tag.

What is 9-nine- about?

The PALETTE-developed supernatural mystery game series consists of four episodes (9-nine- Kokonotsu Kokonoka Kokonoiro, 9-nine- Sorairo Sorauta Soranooto, 9-nine- Haruiro Harukoi Harunokaze, and 9-nine- Yukiiro Yukihana Yukinoato) where the direction of the story changes based on which heroine the protagonist Kakeru Niimi (voiced by Atsushi Abe) gets more involved with. Kakeru learns more about the supernatural influences of the people and places around him, and the first of the heroines he meets is Miyako Kujo (Misato Fukuen).

Sekai Project shared a description for 9-nine-:

9-nine- is a tale of the town of Shiromitsugawa, host to mysterious Artifacts and the superpowers they bestow on their Users. A tale of growing trust and budding romance between the protagonist and the heroine, and also a murder mystery where they hunt down the culprit behind a series of supernatural murders.
