One Piece Live-Action Zoro Takes on Sanji in Fierce Competition

One Piece stars Mackenyu and Taz Skylar are bringing the good old Zoro vs Sanji rivalry to live-action

The cast of the One Piece live-action series has proven that they bonded while filming as the Straw Hats Pirates. However, that doesn't mean that some people always got along. Mackenyu and Taz Skylar have just engaged in a strange competition and it's giving us the good old Zoro vs. Sanji rivalry in the flesh.

If you have been following the One Piece manga or anime (and kudos for keeping up all this time), you already know about the rivalry between Roronoa Zoro and Vinsmoke Sanji. Although they started out rather friendly when the Straw Hats Pirates first got together, Zoro and Sanji began feuding, as is natural when you put two alpha males together on a ship.

Interestingly, the rivalry has crossed over to the live-action actors who will play Zoro and Sanji in Netflix's One Piece series. In a new video shared by the show's official Twitter account, the cast members compete in who could hold their laughter the longest. Not surprisingly, the competition became fierce when Mackenyu and Taz Skylar were the only ones left standing (or sitting).

This isn't the first time that Mackenyu and Taz Skylar have joked about their characters' rivalry. Skylar had previously celebrated his last day of filming by tagging everyone working on One Piece in an Instagram post. Everyone except, you guessed it, Mackenyu.

Luckily, it looks like the rivalry is a friendly one, at least for Mackenyu and Skylar. We can't say the same thing about Zoro and Sanji in the manga and anime, but that's not something we're complaining about at all.
