It has been nearly a year since the sixth season of My Hero Academia ended, and fans are now on the lookout for any updates about the new season. Fortunately, after releasing its first trailer and release window of Spring 2024 in December 2023, the anime has dropped a new character visual for the Pro Hero, giving a good look at the heroes fans will once again see as they continue the battle against All for One, the League of Villains, and Paranormal Liberation Front.

The series may have only released one visual, but it’s enough to excite fans of what’s to come. In fact, this alone has teased the epic fights about to begin in My Hero Academia Season 7 as the words “Plus Ultra” can be read in the visual’s background, meaning the heroes are ready to go “further beyond” their physical and mental limits. By the looks of it, their appearances prove this claim.

From left to right, Endeavor, Best Jeanist, and Edgeshot can be seen in their full, strong glory as they prepare for what’s to come in the new season. The three look ready for the epic battles as All for One has escaped his prison and gathers all the bad guys he can.

At the center is All Might. Despite his skinny appearance, the former No. 1 Pro Hero remains strong and will lead the fights coming their way, along with his fellow Pro Hero. For the last three on his right, Hawks looks sturdy without his respirator, while Aizawa stands firm without any hint of his prosthetic leg, and Mirko proves her strength as the No. 5 Pro Hero with her protruding muscles.

What to Expect from My Hero Academia Season 7?

The anime has yet to release the official synopsis for My Hero Academia Season 7, but it’s expected to pick up where the previous season left off. As the series enters its final phase, with All for One breaking free from his prison, it’s expected to introduce the hero of the United States, Star and Stripe, adapting the Star and Stripe Arc from Kohei Horikoshi’s manga. Here, All Might will request the help of the foreign heroes as Tomura Shigaraki’s body is nearly complete. As the U.S.’s No. 1 Pro Hero, Star and Stripe will help defeat the villain, but Shigaraki is ready to fight back and will steal her Quirk, New Order, resulting in her devastating loss.

It will be then followed by the U.A. Traitor Arc, where the Class 1-A and the remaining Pro Heroes prepare for the final fight against All for One, Shigaraki, and the rest of the League of Villains and Paranormal Liberation Front. However, things get complicated as a traitor leaks sensitive information to the enemies.

You can read the anime’s main synopsis below:

Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered “quirk,” Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.

The anime is based on the manga of the same title by Kohei Horikoshi, which has been serialized since July 2014. As of November 2023, it has collected 39 tankobon volumes. With its success, with over 85 million copies in circulation as of February 2023, making it one of the best-selling manga of all time, it has spawned a media franchise. It has inspired numerous spin-off manga, My Hero Academia: Smash!!My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions, and has expanded into light novels, stage plays, and different types of merchandise and media, like video games.

It was then adapted into anime by Studio Bones, with the first season released in April 2016, the second season in April 2017, the third season in April 2018, the fourth season in October 2019, the fifth season in March 2021, and the sixth season in October 2022. It also has three animated films, My Hero Academia: Two HeroesMy Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, and My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission, and nine original video animations (OVA). The fourth animated film, My Hero Academia: You’re Next, is set to release in August 2024, while a live-action film by Legendary Entertainment is now in the works.
