Since GTA 6’s announcement, fans have been trying their best to get more details on the game’s protagonists, especially Lucia and the voice actor who’ll be playing her role. Lately, many fans have been suspicious of Manni L. Perez, claiming that the actress looks and sounds just like the female character. Previously, the focus was on Alexandra Echavarri and Ana Esposito.
What’s even more interesting is that both Echavarri and Perez have worked with Rockstar Games in the past on GTA 5. Unfortunately, these rumors haven’t been confirmed, but now many fans are certain that Perez might just be Lucia’s voice actor. However, since this hasn’t been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games, it shouldn’t be taken seriously.
While Perez did deny doing any voice-over work for GTA in an interview with The Just Acting Up Show, she said, "I can't even get into that" when DJ Echo asked her (via Triple Threat FM Radio) if she was working on movies or shows. So, GTA fans are taking this as a hint that the actress might just be Lucia from GTA 6.
Manni L. Perez is an actress based in New York and was also a voice actress in GTA 5, where she played the role of an NPC called “Clubber 2,” as per IMDb. Moreover, she has worked in multiple famous shows, including The Blacklist, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Marvel/Netflix's Jessica Jones. Perez also ended up winning the Imagen Award for Best Supporting Actress in Law & Order SVU, in which she played the role of Esperanza Morales.
GTA fans believe that Rockstar Games leans towards recruiting actors from Law & Order more than anything else since Steven Orgg (voice actor of Trevor) and Ned Luke (Michael) also appeared on the show. This might be just a coincidence, as the show has brought on many actors. Fans also think that the actress sounds and looks quite similar to the way Lucia showed up in GTA 6’s trailer.
The GTA detectives went searching and came up with multiple videos to compare Perez’s voice with Lucia’s. The video features one clip from Chicago P.D., an episode titled The Forgotten, in which she plays the role of Devon Rozata. This means that GTA 6 fans are taking this as a hint that Perez actually is the voice of Lucia.
What are some other Lucia rumors?
Before the GTA 6 trailer came out, fans had already been busy coming up with rumors and theories. Following the massive leak that revealed 90 early development videos of the game, many fans discovered the female protagonist and started coming up with theories. Many of them believe that the Latina protagonist will allegedly have a child. Since the trailer also featured children, this rumor might come true, marking this the first-ever GTA game to include children.
Moreover, many fans also saw Lucia wearing an electronic tag on her ankle in the game’s official key art, which led them to speculate. They believe that the character might be out on probation, and the tag is keeping her confined to a certain location only. Unfortunately, these are only speculations, and nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
GTA 6 is set to come out in 2025 on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
