The galaxy far, far away has always been interconnected from the beginning and over the years, it has introduced hundreds of characters, many of which are fan-favorites. From one project to another, cameo appearances are no longer new with the unified Star Wars universe and most of the time, they have interacted at one point in time. This time, is Sabine Wren from Ahsoka connected to Bo-Katan Kryze from The Mandalorian? Here's how their stories are intertwined.
Sabine Wren is best known for her appearances in Rebels and Ahsoka where she is a force-sensitive Mandalorian warrior who became a revolutionary leader during the Galactic Civil War. Later in her life, during the early years of the New Republic, Sabine became a Jedi. On the other hand, Bo-Katan Kryze is a Mandalore princess from the House Kryze who later became the Mand'alor or the leadter of the Mandalorians during the New Republic era.

There is a common character that links both Sabine Wren and Bo-Katan Kryze and that is Ahsoka Tano. Bo-Katan and Ahsoka met each other in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Meanwhile, Sabine Wren and the other cast of Ahsoka were from Star Wars Rebels. In Rebels, Sabine actually interacted with both Ahsoka and Bo-Katan and there is one Star Wars relic that established the connection of Sabine and Bo-Katan: the Darksaber on Dathomir.
How does the Darksaber on Dathomir connect Sabine Wren and Bo-Katan in Star Wars?
In Star Wars Rebels, Sabine Wren found Darth Maul's Darksaber in Dathomir where she immediately recognized the cultural significance of the said Darksaber from the time when Maul briefly ruled Mandalore. At that time, Sabine's home was controlled by Imperial collaborators. Despite the huge responsibility of wielding the Darksaber, Sabine knew that she needed it to rescue her family and bring together Mandalore's factions to go against the Empire.

Since Sabine knew that she was not meant to be a Mand'alor, she offered Bo-Katan the Darksaber of Darth Maul which she first turned down. There was a superstition that the blade should be won in combat and not given or received. However, after reflecting on what the Mandalorians need, Bo-Katan finally accepted the role of being a leader as she took the offer on the Darksaber. In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Bo-Katan and Ahsoka overthrown Maul. By The Mandalorian Season 3, Bo-Katan is no longer a stranger leading Mandalore as that would already be her third time doing so.
While Sabine and Bo-Katan haven't interacted yet in the live-action shows of Star Wars, this only proves how pivotal Sabine is in the journey of Bo-Katan, and the other way around. With that, it would not be surprising to see both of them or the turnover of the Darksaber happen in the upcoming New Republic film of Dave Filoni in the future.
The Mandalorian and Ahsoka episodes are all available to stream on Disney Plus.
