The galaxy far, far away continues to expand and while there may be a drought with the movies for quite some time, it continues to flourish on Disney+ through the small screens with the shows lined up on its roster. Star Wars makes waves with its television series and following the massive finale of Ahsoka, fans are excited to find out what's next for the franchise.

For more than four decades, Star Wars is one of the longest, if not the longest, running multimedia franchises in existence, and with that, it is no question that it is also one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time. Star Wars continues to be one of the beating hearts of pop culture and its legacy continues to live on through generations. It continues to expand throughout the years and it branched out to various media embracing the all-encompassing universe of the franchise.

It all started with the movies created by George Lucas and now, Star Wars shows are doing the work for the franchise as it fills in the gaps of the stories and introduce new ways on how to engage with the audience. Following the finale of the live-action series, Ahsoka, here are the upcoming shows of Star Wars, releasing on Disney+.

1 Young Jedi Adventures

Star Wars is an intergenerational icon over the years as it has captured the hearts of many since it first released in 1977 and for more than four decades, the franchise continues to expand its audience. For starters, while there are some movies or series that might not be suitable for kids because of some restrictions, worry not, because Young Jedi Adventures is here for the children. A kid-friendly show with children heading the animated series, this is the perfect show to raise a Jedi in your household.

Start them young, that's what most would say. Well, Young Jedi Adventures cater to the Star Wars parents out there who would want to introduce the franchise to their kids! After the release of the first 13 episodes, more of it are coming on November 8, 2023 and it is expected to continue releasing new episodes in 2024.

2 Skeleton Crew

Bring out your light sabers as a new live-action series is about to grace the screens with Skeleton Crew and it follows a group of pre-teens who gets lost in the galaxy far, far away. As they look for their way home, they face various challenges and they encounter a Jedi to guide them home. The series will be headed by Jude Law who will suit up as a new Jedi.

While it was first announced that Skeleton Crew would be out in 2023, considering that there are no updates yet when the series would be released, speculations surround that the show will arrive in 2024. The series is slated to have 8 episodes with executive producers Jon Watts, Christopher Ford, Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni.

3 Andor Season 2

Diego Luna captivated various hearts throughout the galaxy far, far away as he suited up as Cassian Andor who later got his very own series on Disney+. It follows the titular character is his journey to being a spy in a complicated world. Andor Season 2 has already been confirmed and is expected to bridge the gap going into Rogue One.

The creator of the series, Tony Gilroy, revealed at a Star Wars Celebration event in London that Andor Season 2 will be the final season of the show. The closure of Cassian Andor's story would arrive in August 2024.

4 The Acolyte

Who run the galaxy far, far away? Girls! A female-centered Star Wars series is up ahead with The Acolyte which will be focusing on Sith apprentices. Having The Acolyte on the list of upcoming series of Star Wars is already a feat in itself because after long years of waiting, it is finally happening -- a female-centric show that would challenge the status quo of the galaxy far, far away.

The Acolyte has 8 episodes in total and started filming on November 7, 2022. The series will be headed by Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Carrie-Anne Moss, Dean-Charles Chapman, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Charlie Barnett, and Manny Jacinto. There is no official release date yet.

5 The Bad Batch Season 3

The beloved Clone Force 99 and Omega will be back for another run as they take on new challenges in the galaxy far, far away. Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3 has been renewed following the heartbreaking finale of the second season. The third run of the series is confirmed to be the final season of the show and it is currently slated for release in 2024.

6 Tales of the Jedi Season 2

Other than the live-action series of Star Wars, the animated shows are also making waves for the franchise and one of those is Tales of the Jedi which has been confirmed to have a second season! Tales of the Jedi Season 1 dived deep into the origins of Count Dooku and Ahsoka Tano. As the series gets another run, Tales of the Jedi Season 2 is expected to release more back stories of other Jedis in the galaxy far, far away to arrive in 2024.

7 The Mandalorian Season 4

One of the most well-received Star Wars shows is about Din Djarin and his adventures with Baby Grogu. Throughout the years, The Mandalorian became a fan-favorite and with the finale of the third season being bigger than ever, the love of the fans continues to grow more and more. Thankfully, it has already been confirmed to happen.

The Mandalorian Season 4 is expected to deal with the new adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu while Mandalore embraces change with Bo-Katan Kryze being the chosen one. There is still no confirmed release date nor window yet for the show.

8 Star Wars: Visions Season 3

Star Wars: Visions is one of the most creative shows in the Star Wars franchise. It tells the story of the galaxy far, far away in various perspectives from different parts of the world, in their own visualization and perception of the narrative. From all around the world, Star Wars: Visions Season 3 is reportedly under development according to One Take News.

With no confirmation yet when the third series will come out, it is safe to expect Star Wars: Visions Season 3 by late 2024 to early 2025, possibly even releasing on Star Wars Day in 2025.
