From 1945 Gyeongseong, Han So-hee and Park Seo-joon will take their battle against the monsters and the evil scientists to 2024 Seoul in Gyeongseong Creature Season 2. The first season's cliffhanging finale saw So-hee’s Chae-ok surviving Seishin’s accidental attack after a tiny parasitic brain worm called Najin swam inside her mouth and brought her back alive. As this seems to make Chae-ok immortal, looking ageless as she’s seen in present-day Korea, a new preview hints at So-hee’s transformation into a monster after ingesting the parasite.
Netflix has released eight preview stills for Gyeongseong Creature Season 2. Starting with Seo-joon’s new character, Jang Ho-jae, he doesn’t only have an uncanny resemblance with Jang Tae-sang, but they are also both business-minded. If Tae-sang had a pawnshop in the past, Ho-jae is the vice president of Bugang Sangsa, a private agency in Seoul. In his stills, he looks confused as he talks to Chae-ok, while the other teases some action with the blood on his face.
From a sleuth, So-hee starts taking cases of missing persons in modern-day Korea. She also changes her name and starts using the moniker Eun Je-bi. In two of her previews, she meets someone unseen on the screen, while the other hints at her possible monstrous transformation, which is Najin's effect. However, it looks like So-hee is trying her best not to kill anyone by holding herself.
Two other stills feature Lee Moo-saeng’s Captain Kuroko. As the leader of the elite agents called the Kurokos and spearheads the secret experiments happening in Jeonseung Pharmaceuticals’ lab, he exudes commanding charisma and authority. He also seems to look after some prisoners, with the reveal of a holding cell akin to the first season’s laboratory.
Bae Hyeon-seong also joins Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 as Seung Jo. A member of Kurokos, he works for the captain and seems to be the right-hand man due to his exceptional skills. He also knows Chae-ok and is similarly infected by Najin, making him pursue her. With his menacing but sorrowful look in his stills, he may have an interesting backstory about to be revealed.

What To Expect From Gyeongseong Creature Season 2
Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 is expected to tie up all the loose ends from the first season. Although Tae-sang has survived the attack, there’s no way that he could have remained alive and still look young after almost eight decades. Hence, the second season may answer the questions surrounding his doppelganger Ho-jae.
Also, it may tackle what happened to Chae-ok after ingesting Najin. With the parasite's effects, turning its host into a monster, how she has survived may finally be revealed. In addition, the first season didn’t reveal what happened to Commissioner Ishikawa and his mistress, Myeong-ja’s love child, after the latter drank the monster worm and gave birth.
Lady Maeda also survived Tae-sang’s attack at her husband’s funeral. Now that Korea is independent, she may have traveled to Kyoto to exact her revenge on Tae-sang.

So far, only Seo-joon, So-hee, Hyeon-seong, and Moo-saeng are the revealed cast of the new season. Jung Dong-yoon directs the series, with Kang Eun-kyung as the screenwriter and Kim Tae-seong as the composer.
With the success of the first season, many are now looking forward to seeing Gyeongseong Creature Season 2. Hopefully, it will be just as interesting as its predecessor and live up to, if not exceed, viewers' expectations.
Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 is set to be released on September 27.
