The reveal trailer of GTA 6 has been a global phenomenon since its release in early December that it broke global records in an instant. This is the sixth installment of the game series which cuts the drought of the fans waiting for what comes next for the Rockstar Games releases. The hype on the series continues and stars from previous releases are already noticing some things on GTA 6 like Ned Luke who voiced Michael in GTA V and spoke up about his thoughts on the dark comedy of the upcoming game as compared to the previous ones.
GTA 6 has been the talk of the gaming community even before it was confirmed by Rockstar Games and when the reveal trailer was dropped, all eyes were on GTA 6 despite being scheduled for a 2025 release. While there were only few information that were confirmed by Rockstar Games, the fans of the game continue to scour the internet for more details about the upcoming GTA 6 release. There remains no announcement on what the tone of GTA 6 would be but GTA V Michael de Santa actor Ned Luke, speaking to IGN, thinks that, from the trailer of GTA 6, he thinks that it would have a really dark comedy:
I think that this thing, from the trailer, it looks like it's going to be a little heavier than ours was. It looks like all the comedy and all the weirdness is going to be on the outside, and all those ancillary characters. It had a little heavier vibe, it felt to me between us and [GTA] 4, almost. Because 4 was really dark.
Ned Luke compared the darkness of the comedy of GTA 6 to that of GTA V and GTA IV. The actor also shared how voice acting for a game is challenging when it involves comedy.
Is it possible for Michael de Santa to be in GTA 6?
In GTA V, Michael de Santa faced his demise in a fight with Franklin who punched him which caused him to fall over the railings and regardless of the choice, Michael still dies as he fell to his death. Despite such fact, in November 2023, Ned Luke responded to a fan on X (formerly Twitter) regarding the possibility of his return as Michael de Santa in GTA 6, and he played coy this time saying "It's a mystery" with five star emojis. With such a cryptic response from the actor, the possibility of Michael surviving the fall in GTA V could happen.
Should that be confirmed, it would be a great twist and a connection between GTA V and its successor, GTA 6. So far, GTA 6 has confirmed that its main protagonists are in the style of Bonnie and Clyde with Jason and Lucia leading the story of the upcoming game. How Michael could appear in the game remains unknown as the plot of the story is still under wraps.
GTA 6 is scheduled for a launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.
