Based on the stats for 2023’s last week, it’s quite apparent that Rockstar’s game is the top one.
While GTA 5’s base game initially came out in 2013, it’s the GTA roleplaying (RP)’s continuous reiteration that has helped it maintain its position as the most famous streaming game. The latest version of the popular RP server, NoPixel 4.0, also came right in time alongside the GTA 6 trailer hype. Since then, plenty of streamers have been busy making the most out of this situation.
This has helped GTA become the most popular game on Twitch at the moment, with Just Chatting ahead of it when it comes to the hours watched during 2023’s final week. It has nearly 10 million more hours watched as compared to the third most famous, Escape from Tarkov, which also saw a renewal recently owing to its most recent wipe. On the other hand, some other titles, such as Warzone, Apex Legends, and Counter-Strike, have dropped on the charts, with the last two now completely out of the top 10 when it comes to hours watched. With the start of 2024, another GTA game has brought in massive viewership owing to RP. This means that 2025 won’t be any different either for Rockstar titles since GTA 6 is set to come out that year.
When is GTA 6 expected to come out?
While Rockstar Games did indicate that GTA 6 is set to launch in 2025, they didn’t quite mention the game’s exact release date. This is why fans had to rely on leaks and rumors to give them an idea of when to expect the game. The latest rumors have come from Rockstar’s “office cleaner,” who claims that he saw the release date of the game, which will reportedly launch in September 2025.
If this turns out to be true, then we might just have to wait almost two whole years before we get to play GTA 6, and that is if Rockstar Games doesn’t delay the release date. Moreover, Take-Two Interactive also claimed that they were expecting huge investments during their fiscal year 2025, which begins from April 2024 to March 2025. This report suggests the game might come from January 2025 to March 2025, so we’ll just have to wait and see which is it. For now, take this with a grain of salt.
